Cross Tripler #1791 - One Last Gasp

The top rated game has managed to avoid deletion from the Outstanding Prize list for one more week.  It remains a very strong pick with 61.4% of total revenue returned to small prize winners and four of its 7 Grand Prizes still left to claim from among the 850,000 tickets (10% of float) that remain outstanding. Of course, almost all of those tickets are safely back in OLG headquarters and on their way to destruction. If you can find any stragglers, as some folks have been able to do, pick them up. I'll be shocked if the game remains on the listing for another week.

I'm tired of including the image of the sister game of our game of choice. The only image of our game is from the game sheet and I am unable to cut and paste it into the blog. My apologies.

Comings and Goings

There will be a wake held at OLG Headquarters on Sunday in memory of More Lucky Lines. The favourite whipping boy, and with good reason, of this blog is no more. It is an Ex-Game. See Ya!

New on the scene is Wheel of Fortune. Regrettably, the game stumbled coming out of the starting gate when it surrendered a Grand Prize in its first week. Folks have already bought 250,000 of these babies. I attribute it all to Vanna White. The game features a little quirk in that one in every 24 tickets is worth a free ticket in the Wheel of Fortune lotto game. I crunched the numbers and the OLG has not included anything that would be won via the free ticket in its calculation of total return for the game. That makes it a freebie. An extra tick mark from me for that feature.

Personal Play

A stinking disaster. $46 worth of tickets and a $10 return. I switched to a new seller three weeks ago and I have had three terrible weeks since making that choice. I'm moving on, Mr. Mac's Milk Store.

The small prize odds on that game must be horrible or, they have one Grand Prize and a billion tickets. Why do our American Friends have to have the biggest prizes? Those powerball lottery prizes can reach up to $300,000,000 or more. That's A-Rod kind of money.

    Don't forget though, the Americans are taxed on their winnings and we are not. But still, I could only imagine winning one of their lotteries. Also, I read up on that scratch ticket story, I wonder how solid his pre-nup is going to be. He probably already sailed off into the sunset with 10 other women, at 28 years old, why have one, when you can have many. What a lucky guy. But I'm winning that $30 million lotto max tonight anyways ;)

    It's a $30 game but the odds are better then most OLG game surprisingly with it being close to the odds of the old keno. There are 3 $15 million prizes and 36 $1 million prizes but they are paid over 20 years and are taxed (about half of the prize if they take the buy out with tax). There are over 14 million tickets but I can't even think how slow it would sell as we have seen how long it takes for $20 games to sell out with a fraction of that float.

      With nearly 9 million prizes I'd throw $30 into that game in a heartbeat. We bought 2 Living The Life tickets at $20 each and it only has 80 prizes over $5,000 counting the early birds which we didn't win.

    The first two weeks of Tim Hortons I got free coffee every two or 3 cups. The last two weeks I've been getting nothing. Does anyone know where the cars have been won? I believe the cars have to be distributed evenly across the country and the United States. I was up in Rankin Inlet Nunavut and the large Tim Horton coffee cost $2.50.

      I've won more than my share of donuts..but sigh ..I dont like donuts..why can't I win more large double doubles...
      A freind of mine's wife won a $100 Timmy card, she so proud her Facebook profile pic shows her holding it up..

      I think that is a fairly standard situation. Of course, Tim Hortons is under no ethical obligation to do anything vis a vis their Roll Up The Rim contests. It is a marketing campaign rather that a lottery.

      I have persistently that the Grand Prizes (RAV 4's) are actually a one year lease on a RAV4 and not an actual RAV4. Anyone else heard that? I may check that out.

    The "insider" i know who works for the OLG tells me that sales on the LIVING THE LIFE lottery are doing so poorly that they expect only HALF of the possible 6,172,840 entries to be sold. They said a push will be made to try and increase sales, but with the draw only 3 weeks away and the LOTTO 6/49 SUPER DRAW on March 18th/21st, it may be a lost cause. If the 50% figure holds, expect much better odds on the draws main prizes.

      Thanks CL for the tip. I hope it doesn't sell well and OLG lose money on this. Still bitter with the pink lucky lines. At least with this they can not pull out the game.

      There should be documentation of when and where the Camry were won at Timmys. If there's 4.8 million prizes and 50 cars it's one in 950,000 to win one for only $1.90

      Thanks for the tip. I might purchase another ticket then. Where I bought my ticket the first time, the store was advertising it with signs and everything, went back a couple days later, you could not find 1 thing to identify that the 'living the life lottery' was going on....kinda weird.

      Yes, the odds are far off to win anything on the main draw - if that 50% figure holds, your looking at 1 chance in 40,000 - i think it sucks that the only small prize is the 1 in 100 chance at $20 - this is why i never bothered to buy a LTL ticket - still, the best odds on a scratch ticket to win $5,000 or + is 1 in 66,000, and LTL'S 1 in 40,000 beats that - assuming again this 50% mark, the OLG is looking roughly at $9 million in sales while the prizes would be around $6 million, so they are still set to make a profit.

    Zzzzzzzz.

    Still suffering from the effects of Daylight Savings. Don't worry, I'll eventually adjust. Takes around six months though. Also takes around six months to adjust back to Eastern Standard. LOL.

    Crossword Tripler #1791 has been removed from the "Unclaimed" list.

    It would be interesting to see when the OLG introduces the next-in-the-series (in this case, Crossword Tripler #1810) in order to speed the demise of the previous since most non-reduced-float players like playing the new game versus the old one.

    I think that's all the coherent thought I can put together at this point....

    Mean while I have mainly been buying bejeweled and diamond 7s and have had pretty good luck!

    just noticed 2 out of the 15 scratch ticket grand prizes listed on the major winner board are from shoppers drugmart. .last fall i remember seeing that same higher than average ratio of grand prize tickets being bought at a shoppers..just an observation, wish I was closer to one because they sell a lot of grand prizes.

    Hit $25 on winner take all and $30 ($5 with tripler) on pink crossword. I heard the Living the Life lotto is not doing well at all in sales so I did buy a few more. Up to $100 in those now so I think that's it and hopefully I win something on the final draw. I think I'll reinvest this $55 into a few $10 tickets and see what I get from that.

      I'm thinking the same thing Mic. I'm at $70 worth of living the life lottery. I'll be buying more too since it's not doing well. Better odds for us since the main draws are guaranteed. I'm also winning the $40 mil lotto max tonight ;)

    Another three hours of extra sleep tonight and that would give me an extra 24 for the past eight days, allowing me to "spring forward" and finally catch up with everyone else in terms of alertness!

    Kwik K Variety in Kincardine has about 50 bonus cash for life. Beside RBC. I picked up 10. Feel free to pick up the rest. I just want a tip if someone here picks it up and got the Life symbols.

    If my extra LTL ticket wins I will tip CL66 and Doug. I won't buy dream lottery tickets after any early birds prizes but going with my gut on this and hopefully pays out.

      Close one atleast you got a flush. I had that happen with a straight flush back in Oct or Nov and a straight flush was won just seconds after mine ugh I was annoyed but at the same time that's why I keep playing. Good luck on the 649 draws this Wed everyone!!!
