More Lucky Lines #1776 Continues to Rule to Roost

Another week goes by, 80 thousand tickets sold, and still all three Grand Prizes and all four second prizes remain to be claimed for this game.  An estimated 20% of the float remains outstanding making your chances of winning one of the Grand Prizes a juicy 197,000:1. Posters have indicated that a scarcity for the game is beginning to set in. That makes sense. I know that several people have indicated that they are fed up with the game. So am I. But, I can't get off the bandwagon. The odds against none of the top seven prizes being claimed in the first 80% of tickets sold is very low. Too low. Maybe the poster who suggested that winners must have lost their winning tickets is on to something. It's all very strange. But, unlikely things do happen. If they didn't, no one would ever buy a ticket to begin with.

MORE LUCKY LINES

Top Rated Games

  1. $3 More Lucky Lines (20% of float left, +/- 3%)
  2. $5 Money Multiplier (14%, +/- 2%)
  3. $10 Prestige (27%, +/- 7%)
  4. $10 Turbo Cash (45%, +/- 2%)
  5. $20 Extraordinary (87%, +/- 4%)

Games to Avoid

  1. $3 Tetris - worst game by far.
  2. $1 Lucky Lines - Lost one grand prize from within first 5% of tickets sold.
  3. $3 CrossWord - 1.8 million to one to win $50,000. A stinker.
  4. $5 Win Take All - Five of seven grand prizes claimed in first half of ticket float.
  5. $3 Cashingo - Three of four grand prizes claimed. 1.4 million to one to win $75,000.

$1 - $2 Game Update

Good times are over in this area. The Red Hot 50's game is the only reasonable choice.

$3 Game Update

The top game is by far the best choice. Still, if you must, Bingo #3014 is the next best.

$4 - $5 Game Update

Avoid Win Take All and Sapphire 7s. Money Multiplier is a good choice.

$10 - $20 Game Update

Avoid Classic Gold and Cadillac.

Comings and Goings

Our friends at the OLG finally withdrew Cash For Life Family #1165. It was our game of choice for some time then deteriorated into the game to avoid. It departed with no Grand Prizes and 8% of its float left to sell.

New on the scene is $5 Black Pearls #1795 and $2 Royal 7's #1790. We have seen Black Pearls before. Its earlier version was retired last September. It is very light in prizes between $100 and less than the Grand prize. It's above average in small prizes so it may become a good choice for those who like lots of small winners.

Royal 7's has lots of different prize amounts which is unusual for a $2 game. Its prize structure for prizes from $100 up to the Grand Prize is the best for games currently for sale in the $1-$2 area. The trade-off is in the area of lower prizes. This game could improve in the ratings if no Grand Prizes are claimed early on in the game.

Personal Play

Ten More Lucky Lines tickets included five winners totaling $44. That makes two weeks in a row that I have kept my head above water. Of course, any prize of $100 or more continues to escape my reach but I am showing a return of 86% on this game to date which is very good. My overall return rate this year is 69% and that is also a bit better than I should have expected. I hope that does not portend a string of bad luck.

Meanderings

Thanks to the posters who commented this week. You know, If I was to actually win a Grand Prize in More Lucky Lines I'd feel badly for Darth. The poor guy is scouring the province and pounding away with purpose. If anyone deserves some good luck, it's him.

Two posters also indicated that they thought that they had losing tickets in the recommended games but upon verification they turned out to be winners. That is very easy to do in this game so please please please never toss a loser without confirming with the ticket checker machine that it is indeed a loser.

Also of note is the number of folks playing Poker Lotto. They seem to like the game and have had some success. They recommend playing only when the jackpot gets up towards $150,000. It is currently $75,000 so I think that I'll watch for a while.

Best to all.

  1. I tried two Black Pearls and got two wins $5 & $20. My poison of choice is Turbo Cash and two tickets had one $20 winner. Can't find any luck lines.

  2. Went and got 1 money multiplier and 10 Lucky Lines and won $11, Bought 5 more and won $5, Then today I bought 3 more and got a $10 return so I think I'm going to roll that $10 into 4-5 more tonight and I will report back how I did.
Anyways 3 stores out of 10-12 in my town has sold out but when I asked the manager of one of the stores if he had any left and he said he pulled them because there was no prizes remaining, So I'm wondering if OLG knows something we don't or he is just confused about which game I'm talking about because OLG does have a lot of bad games out there.

    1. Picked up 4 more tickets with the $10 from the last win and won $8, So rolled that into 4 more tickets and came out with $11! Tomorrow I will cash my winners in and get more so I will report back but it looks like I'm on a winning streak and hopefully it continues :)

  3. 3 winners of $1,020.00 on Lucky Lines between July 21 & 24. We bombed out on 9 of them. They can still be found but I've been passing on them because I think there must something screwy about this game. Besides, we're getting tired of coming up empty without even winning back the price of the odd ticket. We've been doing a bit better on other tickets though.

    1. Hey cl66 you should make an android and I phone app with this info..I would pay a small fee for it ..if you got several thousand people to buy it you could set..the more I look over your work the more I see value in it..
there was an android app released recently for olg scratch cards but I tried the free version and it basically sucked ..it says that bonus cfl is the top rated game..and no explanation as to how they come up with there formula..
anyhow great odds breakdown nicely laid out and current..good job.

Thanks again for another compliment Darth - i dont even use/have a cell phone lol - only app i know is "apples" haha! - now if YOU wanna do it, then go ahead and maybe we could split any profit to help pay for our lotto's lol - i think ANY cfl game is to be avoided, it`s just so "top heavy" with very few prizes of 50$+ with almost 10 million tickets printed - for the time being, i think i`ll just stick to posting my "50-500-5000" odds list here for FREE for anyone to use to help them decide what to play and hopefully to win more often ^_^

    4. CL66,
Thanks for this information. How do you get the remaining prizes going down to $50?
      Doug

      Delete
    5. i took the method of float % based on the most common listed prize amount of a game at the OLG site for unclaimed prizes - for instance: 500 prizes of x$ with 250 prizes remaining, would ASSUME a 50% float - if said game has say 1 million tickets printed with 1000 prizes of 50$, would appear to be 500 prizes out of 500,000 remaining tickets for this 50$ are remaining, so ESTIMATED odds of 1 in 1,000 for 50$ - i would hope in a future time that the OLG would post this information at the site, for the time being - it`s kept confidential, no retailers are informed and even the OLG employee i know is not permitted to know such

      Delete
    6. If i understand you correctly then you are estimating both the number of tickets left to sell and the number of prizes left, if those prizes are for smaller amounts than is listed on the OLG site. If the number is listed, then you use the actual number. Am I correct?

      Delete
    7. correct - it is an ESTIMATE on unstated numbers, i use actual numbers from anything listed, the determining % is taken from the most commonly listed prize, say 1000 prizes of x vs 100 of y, i i will only use x to determine the % - if there is a close amount invloved, such as 500 of x vs 400 of y, i will take both into account - well, if either of us can actually win something, then we know we are on to something ^_^

      Delete
    8. @Jay, Cadillac Riches ranks high is somewhat misleading since it's a $10 ticket and you're getting 5x your cost, say, compared to a $3 ticket where it's much harder to get 16.6x your cost. A ticket costing $50 if one existed would probably rank #1 on this list.

  7. Thnx cl66 your odds do look correct..if I could find lucky lines I'd buy em but striking out finding them so im contemplating the next best tickets. .I like your post for the 5k and up odds the best because really those are the prizes we all really want. ..

    1. Thanks Darth - Doug's picks were always just for the top prizes and i thought i`d pass on the info in a 50-500-5000 format so a choice could be made - here in the Scarborough center area, i`ve found there are no Lucky Lines in malls, but they are available in smaller variety corner stores - 2 stores within walking distance of me have many - i was there this morning and picked 2 up along with some others, while there i got a 2-line poker with all-in for 6$ which got a flush so there's a 100$ win ^_^

    3. CL66,
My rating system takes three factors into consideration:
      1. The chances to cash a ticket for more than the cost of the ticket.
      2. The total percentage of revenue that is returned to players.
      3. The current amount of money from each ticket sold that goes to the Grand Prize winners.

I am always looking to tweak the formula. I'm never quite convinced that I have the correct weight assigned to the Grand Prize factor.

      Doug

    4. Yes, my method is slightly different - i hope with both of us doing this, that we can further help others in what they choose to go with - i still hope that the OLG in the future would release this information - so for the time being, let's continue, but assure people we are ESTIMATING - as evidenced by the Lucky Lines wackiness, there can be unknown variables that we cant account for - i scored again with Cadillac Riches, another 50$ win, i beleive it's the #1 game to play at the moment

  8. Yeah a lot of the 2nd and 3rd prizes are quite large..bonus cfl for example ,yes we play for the big one but damn those ten second prizes are sweet..I was also surprised how cadillac fared so well in the odds..sigh bonus cfl not real well...the last guy who won the sapphire 77k prize turns out he also won 28 k on a $2-.scratch a couple months ago...thats amazing. .
so yeah I base my scratch games on the size of float and how many 1st 2nd 3rd prizes left..and also on your return from small under $100 prizes ..
again thnx for your work Doug and cl66

  10. Wondering the expected return on prizes under $100 is for scrabble 1799. Lucky lines is approx 60% return on small prizes. .just curious if its similar because it's getting close to 50% float left and only two prizes over 5k claimed..this may be my next game because lucky lines so scarce up my way..Doug or cl66 help thnx.

  11. I'd like to know peoples opinions on the numbers on the bottom of scratch tickets. Is there a certain range of numbers that you will or will not buy? I've read online that winners are often at the beginning of the roll and at the very end of the roll. I'd like to hope that it's random and a big jackpot could be right in the middle but you never know.

    1. I've bought several sealed packs of lucky lines and noticed no benefit in buying the first or last part of a pack..seems totally random where winners are placed .I noticed a higher percentage of odd or even numbered tickets being winners but that seemed to change from one pack to the next so even that balanced out..my worst pack hit a 48% return and I think my best was close to 90% return. .I kinda lost track of my numbers somewhat but gonna try and figure it out this week ..I believe im close to 1000 lucky lines played..with 4-$50 wins and several $20-$25 wins

  12. Darth,
Scrabble 1799 prize distribution is as follows:
    2.4% to Grand Prize Winners
3.4% to Winners between $100 and Grand Prize
50.6% to Winners less than $100 and more than $3
    12.9% to Winners of $3

  13. Darth - with "expected return", Scrabble and Lucky Lines are almost identical in overall odds, prizes and number of tickets printed / "numbers on the bottom" - i never pay attention to this, the only tendancy i have in picking which one is at the "back" of a row on the counter to get a "fresher" ticket or to ask to choose from an opened pack from behind the counter if there aren't many on display, or if i`m cashing in a winning ticket at the store it was bought from, then to pick from an opposite area than i bought the winning ticket - i have NEVER bought a "roll" of tickets and i never will

  14. Bought 21 more lucky lines. $63 spent, $27 won, net loss of $36.

I rolled the winnings into some more tickets. Buying them from different locations. Will report the outcome later today.

I have bought around 100 in total, my biggest win on a tickets was $11......sigh, no $20, 25, 50 winner.....or $75 000 winner, yet haha. I am going to keep pressing on with these. They are indeed getting more difficult to find. You have to go to stores that don't particularly see a lot of lottery traffic, not necessarily a small store or store in a rural area,

    1. Thnx cl66 for your update scrabble is inching up there on your 5-k and up post..but I noticed your odds got worse for lucky lines and no big prizes taken out yet , I figured odds should have improved slightly. ..maybe you did a typo?
Again thnx..I do like your updates

    2. it appears there was a mistake in the odds i had posted on the 27th - my apoligies - thanks for the sharp eye - the odds i posted on the 30th were correct, i checked them again - i checked the OLG site now and can tell you the latest estimated odds for More Lucky Lines are now: $5000+ 1 in 84,280 / $500+ 1 in 24,582 / $50+ 1 in 473

  25. There have been several winners of $1,020 on Lucky Lines including one yesterday but the number of prizes left on the unclaimed prize list remains at 9. Anybody know what's going on here?

    1. I believe that once a ticket has been validated at retailer it then becomes a claimed prize and removed from unclaimed prizes list..even though the winner may take a few days to go get there cheque..I noticed this on 200 extrodinaire .$2million prize came off list maybe three days ago and the lucky couple from Barrie picked prize up yesterday. .

      For me 43 scrabble tested.
      spend $129
      Win $75
      58% return including a $20 winner..
      gl everyone

    2. ^ I was just at that exact store in Barrie where it was sold on Monday so most likely it was sitting right there when I chose the scrabble tickets because they were out of the lucky lines. If I only chose to spend the $20 :(

    4. Same thing happened to me.... I was looking for scratch ticket in richmond hill ... A week later I found out someone Prestige grand prize from the same store... I was looking for a scratch ticket that was the top choice on this blog.... I think it all depends on luck and not the quantiyty of tickets remaining

    5. Which store in Barrie was it? I'll have to check it out in a month when I am back visiting my buddy in Wasaga

  27. Yesterday I hit horrible luck and 13 lucky lines got me $12 so I bought 9 more today and hit better luck and got $44 (Biggest prize was $25). It's really getting hard to find the tickets, No where in Barrie had them while I was down there and I have bought out 2 stores in the last few days and there is only a few more stores that had them a week ago so hopefully they still do but one of those stores had older tickets that were long retired (Cherry Trippler,Fat Cat) so I don't think they get much lottery traffic because they didn't even have a OLG kiosk so they only sell Scratch tickets and can't cash them.

  28. Here's some info I just found out last week :you can collect petro-points at petro- canada with olg purchases...it could be beneficial to keno system players or proline system players or someone running lotto pool who spends over $100 on olg..I received I believe it was 3300 points for around $300 purchase approx. ..I cleaned them out of lucky lines ..lol..
not a bad deal if you into that kinda thing...

  29. i bought 3 cadillac tickets. $30 gone.

  30. I would love to give Constantin my petro-points card to use when he's buying his keno tickets, that would be a small fortune alone..

  32. This madness over Lucky Lines reminds me of "Willy Wonka's golden ticket" - lol - it's just 3 75k$ + 4 5k$ prizes with a current estimate of 590,000 tickets remaining - yes, the odds are very good, but i don't understand the excessive way some seem willing to go to get these remaining tickets - i do play them, as i can get them in my area, but, at the most, i`ll buy just 1 or 2 at a time, i`d rather spread my $ out on a variety of tickets - at the rate these tickets have been sold, this game should be gone by the end of August - i`m just wondering how long can it possibly go without those 7 top prizes being claimed.

  33. Last week i just brought 1 book of CADILLAC, got 115 back, lose 85. And 100 Lucky Lines, only win 120, lose 180, i think i dont have enough luck yet

  34. Scratched 21 tickets, $63 spent, won $43 (-$20). Cleaned out a store with the winnings and still have $10 left over. Need to scout out some more stores this weekend!!

  35. My opinion on current scratch tickets... part 1/2

I think 1$ tickets shouldn`t even be sold anymore, as, even if you win, the best odds to just win 5$+ are 1 in 45. Why even bother, if the odds are bad and most prize amounts are so small. If you insist, go with Cash Cow 1st as there are 4 $10.000 prizes with 21 different prizes available. Red Hot 50`s is next, but the top prize is only 50$ with odds of 1 in 272. Lucky Lines Express is 3rd, as it`s current odds are 1 in 3000 to win more than 10$. Last is Bingo Express as there is only 1 prize over $50 available, at least it's $10,000, but there's 587,000 tickets remaining.

To me, all 2$ tickets are more or less, structured the same, in overall odds, number of tickets printed, variety of prizes and prize amounts. I would go with Royal 7`s 1st as it's so new, that it has the most overall prizes available and the most $5000+ prizes, with 6 chances at $17,777. Crazy 8's is next and then Blazing 7`s last, as with 85% of the tickets sold, so you might not be able to find any for sale.

With $3/$4 tickets, i think More Lucky Lines is the top choice, IF the top 7 prizes are ACTUALLY available, as many readers of this blog are well aware of what a "freak" this ticket became. If so, this game has the best odds of ANY scratch ticket to win $5000+, which are 4 of $5,000 and 3 of $75,000. For a 3$ game, it also has the best odds to win 50$+, but these tickets have become hard to find Scrabble is my second choice with good odds and variety of prizes. My third choice is Bingo, with the most $5000+ prizes available for $3, at 33, but there are 8.14 million tickets remaining! Cashingo is next, but it has only has 3 prizes over $508 available with 1.2 million tickets remaining. I would not recommend playing Keno, Crossword, Tetris or Quest For Gold Crossword. Keno has odds of 1 in 6,100 to just win more than 25$. Tetris`s top remaining prize's are only 3 of $1,112. Quest For Gold Crossword has only 2 prizes over 100$ available with a million tickets remaining. Crossword has 15 $5000+ prizes remaining, but odds of 1 in 505,000 to win more than 100$, as there are almost 7.6 million tickets remaining! The Cash-For-Life games i have always avoided. The top prize is very appealing, but the odds to win such are HUGE. For the newer Bonus-Cash-For-Life it's 1 in 1.8 million. It's 1 in 2.7 million to win Cash-For-life 1161. They average a 1 in 11 chance just to get your 4$ back, which is the worst odds to get your money back from ANY ticket.

  36. My opinion on current scratch tickets... part 2/2

I don't like the current selection of 5$ games. The odds and prizes are better with $3 or 10$ tickets than most of these games. If i had to choose, i would select Money Multiplier first. They are scarce now tho. It has the best odds for a $50+ or $5000+ win. There are 2 $100,000 prizes remaining at good odds of 1 in 165,650. 20X Lucky is a close second with the best chance at a $500+ win. This ticket is also getting hard to find. My third pick would be Sapphire 7`s which is now 81% sold and only 1 prize above $900 with remaining. Crossword Tripler is next with an appealing 5 $100,000 prizes currently available. The negative with this game tho, is the fact that there are only 6 prizes over $300 available with 2.5 million tickets remaining! Winner Takes All gets fifth spot for it's available 1,464 prizes of $185. Black Pearls takes last place, even tho it's a newer game. It has 5 $100,000 prizes, but there are only 7 prizes over $105 available with 2.15 million tickets remaining and the worst odds for a $5 ticket of a $50+ win at 1 in 1,100.

In the $10/$20 group, Cadillac Riches is the top choice. In my opinion it is also the top choice of ANY scratch ticket available. It ranks 2nd in chances at $5000+ and $50+ and 1st at chances at $500+. Of ANY game available at any price, it ranks 2nd in odds at $50+, 1st at $500+ and 6th at $5000+. 200 Million$ Extraordinaire is next, as it should be, since it costs $20!.This game has lots of huge prizes, but the problem is there are 13 million tickets remaining! 100 Million$ Prestige is next, with the best odds for a $5000+ win. It has 4 $1 million prizes, but 3.6 million tickets remain. Classic Gold gets 4th spot for the worst odds for a $50+ win, 1 in 49, and only 4 prizes over $1000 with 1.5 million tickets remaining. Turbo Cash is last, for having only 1 prize available over $225 with 570,000 tickets remaining. At least the 1 prize is $250,000! 0_o

  37. As far as the $10/$20 group goes they should rate quite high in your $50 + group based on ticket cost alone.Myself I would rather play 3- lucky lines or scrabble for $9.than 1 $10 ticket. .also all but turbo cash are interprovincial so its possible you're playing for a big prize that possibly isn't even in our province. At least the $3-games are just olg so thats my game if choice...and buy them in volume.and hopefully beat the 62% returns and keep rolling them into more tickets. ..lol..
    thnx cl66

  38. I don't think I've ever bought $1 scratch tickets except whatever cones in those Christmas $10 packs.
I've also never bought $10/$20 cards either , I know the return is a bit better but I never liked the interprovincial tickets.
Yeah we a bit crazy on lucky lines..lol..I drove up along lake Huron today and bought 2-sealed packs along with 36 loose lucky lines tickets. .already scratched my 5th $50 prize and barely into them..

    ReplyDelete
  39. $10 Turbo Cash is now dead last, for having NO prizes available over $225 - it will be replaced with a new game - $10 WILD 10`S - instead of a typical $250,000 top prize, it's 150 top prizes of $10,000

    ReplyDelete
  40. My belief is you can't win if you don't play and you can't buy yourself a win. Meaning I don't go buying up handfuls of tickets. My biggest win came from just picking up 1 random ticket on a whim on a game I knew nothing about.

Anyway this was a good week for me. I skipped Turbo Cash and bought 1 $200 million and won $40. I also bought 4 Money Multiplier and got $5 + $25 wins. Then grudgingly bought 4 CFL and won $4. I know how bad CFL is but again a few tickets never hurt compared to lotto games, the odds aren't bad vs the ticket cost.
