$4 Cash for Life #1165 is a Dominant Choice

Another week ticked by without a Grand Prize being revealed in the Cash for Life Family $4 game. Your chances to win either $1000/wk for life or $675,000 is now estimated at 675,000:1 and this with a game that returns 67% of its revenue to players and contains one winner in every 3.54 tickets. Twenty-five cents of every dollar spent on the game is returned to the two winners as of today. This game represents significant value and towers above all other choices at this time. I am playing it exclusively.

$1 - $2 Game Update
Both Cash for Life games have now been retired. Red Hot 50s is playable but keep in mind that the highest prize you can win is $50. There still are over 5000 of those prizes to be claimed.

$3 Game Update
Scrabble #1777 is the best choice by far in this area.

$4 - $5 Game Update
The game of choice stands alone. Don’t look at another game until one of its two Grand Prizes is claimed.

$10 - $20 Game Update
Avoid Classic Gold. For $10 you have to right to expect much more.

Comings and Goings

It was house cleaning week at the OLG. Four games were retired from play: $2 Cash for Life Family, Mahjong, Cross Tripler, and Emerald 7’s. All four were good choices and each had at least one grand prize left. Despite that, these games were deep sixed while three games continue to be sold that are devoid of grand prizes. I’m getting wound up again.

Personal Play

Ten Cash for Life $4 games were purchased. Four were winners returning $28. An altogether expected result. I am not discouraged.

Meanderings

A poster last week asked about the difference between Ontario 49 and Lottario. These are both “Winner Take All” type games but I thought that I would give them a look-see. Each game costs $1.

Lottario is a game where the pot builds if it is not won. You get two lines and 45 numbers to choose from. Your chance to win the jackpot is a little over 4 million:1. The OLG takes 50% of the money invested. It then takes $50,000 of the total invested and dedicates it to Early Bird players who must match all 4 numbers drawn in the early bird draw. In the results that I reviewed, there were  111 Early Bird winners. The total money of people who won $5 is then subtracted from what is left. There were over 33,000 $5 winners in the draw I reviewed. What is left is then split between the bigger winners on a percentage basis with the grand Prize winner(s) accruing 44% of the total funds. In other words, a little over 20% of all money that goes into the game goes to the one or maybe two winners.

Ontario 49 uses four more numbers and establishes fixed prizes for its top two winners. You receive one line of numbers and have one chance in 14 million to win the Grand Prize of $2 million. That amount will be split if there are two winners. The players with 5 of 6 plus the bonus split $50,000. There were 6 of those in the draw I reviewed. All other winners received fixed amounts regardless of the number of winners. The OLG has tried to enhance the number of winners by providing a free ticket to those who have 2 of six numbers plus the bonus number.

Which game is better? I would keep an eye on the Grand Prize for Lottario. If it is unclaimed for a few draws then I would prefer that game to Ontario 49. Lottario is also better for having 4 or 5 numbers correct. Ontario 49 is better for smaller prizes. Both games are poor by this standard when compared to Scratch and Win games. One final comment is that Ontario 49 markets itself on the basis of having lots of winners. Lottario yields one winner in every 20.89 tickets. Ontario 49 claims to have one winner in every 6.6 tickets. That’s true but remember that 80% of its winners win a free ticket. Your odds to win any monetary prize are 32:1.

I had fun looking at that. Please send along any other questions you may have.

Best of luck to Vic at Lac Leamy tomorrow.

  2. 1165 CFL appears to on its way out around me. One store had 2 left and stacks of the other. I bought them (duds) and two stores I checked only had the wrong cfl.

I think olg is balancing their reserves since the new version came out too soon to join with the family promotion. Now they want to sell off their load of the previous cfl.

  3. It'll be nice if there's a ranking for your picks.
Like if 1165 only has 1000tix left with 2 grand prizes, it gets a (10).

Cause normally the best game is the headliner, but it may only have 1 grand prize with 900,000tix left. It'll be the best for the week cause all other prizes have no grand prize left, but it's still crummy so it'll get like a (2) ranking.

Or can use A, B, C, D, E, F instead of 1-10 scale since there'd be lots of numbers in your posts and it might get confusing.

  6. I took some of my casino winnings and bought more Turbo Cash. I've now bought 10 of them and no wins.

I think I'd be better off spending it at the ballet like Vic lol.

  7. I went today around 2 pm to play put in 5 dollars on an old school 25 cent slot and won 40 i cashed out, then went to a 1 dollar machine ( wheel of fortune) or something played 5 bux of that with my 40 dollar voucher and on that last hit at 35 i got the wheel spin and won 30, walked out. I couldnt stand the fancy video slots for some reason i rather watch the reels in action rather than play on a lcd screen , and them being all in french writing didnt help much either. I found that the older slots were better and paid out pretty good, what do you guys think.

  8. I coulnt fid any video slots that werent 1 cent ones either, cause i dont like penny slots lol

  9. I do like the newer interactive video slots but they aren't penny slots when it's 0.30 or more a spin and more like $1.5 to $3.20 max spin to get the jackpots. Usually on the video slots a great return is 100x your bet size so it's all relative to your playstyle.

There are some that I've seen that you can play 1 line @ 1 cent but the return would be very small and very rare.

Generally it's better to play a higher demonization slot with fewer lines. I.e a 1 line 0.25 with 3x pay scale over a 40 line 0.01 with 1-10 multiplier. Also avoid licensed games like which most of showcase pennies are. You lose twice with lower payouts and more taken off to pay for the license. And more taken off if it's a progressive.

The other day I played Wizard of Oz for the first time so I thought I'd min bet to start just to see it in action. First spin I won $100 and thought crap that would have been $1000 at max spin. But then again I don't play a bankroll that can withstand max betting for more than 5 mins...

    1. Jay,
Interesting point on the licensing. I never thought about that before but I'm sure that it must be true after reading your comment. I wonder what "cut" of the profits they get?

  10. Nice, overall it was a nice weekend, ide say 8/10 times i played the video blackjack with min of 10 and won double or more each time, one time i got a 9 and the dealer had a low card, i went double down with a 20 and he looked at me like inwas stupid lol, " your going todouble on that" i was confident in it, i got an ace and beat him , walked with about +50 in the end of it cuz i only did 10 or 20 dollar bets max.

My bud won 140 total ( 100 first) and 40 the next night only putting in a 5 on a 25 cent old slchool machine . I didnt get a huge hit on slot but i managed to win 35 on the 1 dollar wheel game with a jackpot of 100k set . I seemed to like that one but i only got that 1 wheel spin from it to win the 35 .then walked lol

  11. I saw the ads for the new $10 'Cadillac' game. It has two strikes against it for me. I suspect it's interprovincial because it has 10x $250k top prizes as well as the 10 Cadillacs. That means 10-15 million tickets. The other is the vehicle is an Escalade. Not eager to pay $130 a fillup on a monster SUV. Maybe they will have a cash alternative.

Good point. You can take $100,000 in lieu of the gas guzzler.

  12. Found a place on the west end that had 10 1165 CFL's. Grabbed the all. After scratching I have only found 3 winners of the 10 for a total of $24 return on $40 worth of tickets. Not exactly a great result here but I am hoping for better next time I run into them.

  13. my local store says the 1165 regularly, still gunna play them

  14. After I thought about it I figured 8 million interprovincial for the Cadillac tickets and it turns out its 6.6 million. Also it's 2 cars 5 Escaldes and 5 CTS coupes or cash (100k and 47.5k) options. It's far easier to win the 250k main prize.

There is also a raffle you enter for each ticket you buy to an online site which draws in October 2015 for another Cadillac.

  15. Finally some luck on Turbo Cash. Bought one ticket and won $60 (10+10)x tripler. So I bought two more and won $10 & $40. So 13 tickets returned $110. Now I can breath easier.

  16. Lol nice i wouldnt doubt you would finally hit something after 130$ of tickets worth

  17. Just bought 10 CFL, will post results.
Any insight on how long it takes to remove a prize on the site? Once the ticket is validated at a store or in person at olg, is it removed the next day or do they wait until payout/investigation to be completed. Hopefully those prizes are still live. Gl all

    1. I think once its validated .. but you never know how long a winner sits on a ticket either .. I'm thinking of grabbing 5 CFL today if available
