Cash For Life #1165 Remains the Champ

The recommended game is setting all time records on my evaluation method. Why? Over 7% of total revenue is dedicated to the Grand Prize winners and two of those three prizes remain outstanding with only 23%, +/- 4% of the ticket float left to sell. Your odds to win are now roughly 860,000:1. I can't be sure but I gotta feeling that at least one of those prizes is about to be claimed, maybe both, very soon. A $4 investment with one chance in 3.54 to win any prize and two chances at $675,000 is more than enough to attract my attention.

If you intend to play the game, remember to play game #1165 and not #1161. The latter game is OK but the recommended game is a much better choice.

CASH FOR LIFE $4

Top Rated Games

  1. Cash For Life #1165 (23% of float left to sell +/- 4%)
  2. Scrabble #1777 (10%, +/- 3%)
  3. Cash For Life $2 (17%, +/- 2%)
  4. Cross Tripler #1755 (9%, +/- 2%)
  5. Prestige (37%, +/- 7%)

Games to Avoid

  1. More Lucky Lines #1755
  2. Fat Cat #1729
  3. Quest For Gold Crossword #3204
  4. Classic Gold #1771
  5. Crossword #3205

$1 - $2 Game Update

The $1 Cash For Life game was retired this past week. The $2 version remains an excellent choice and the Red Hot 50's is also good if you don't mind sacrificing the prospect of a big Grand Prize.

$3 Game Update

Scrabble #1777 is a very strong choice. Keno #1412 and Mahjong are also playable.

$4 - $5 Game Update

There are other reasonable choices in this area but I can't recommend any game over the Cash For Life #1165.

$10 - $20 Game Update

Prestige took a serious hit this week, losing two Grand Prizes. Regardless, it remains the top pick in this group. If you don't like Prestige, then simply stay away from Classic Gold. It is terrible.

Comings and Goings

The $1 Cash for Life game was canceled this week. Too bad - there was one juicy prize left to be claimed and only 400,000 tickets left to sell.

New on the scene is a terrible Crossword game #3205 and a new version of an old favourite of this blog: Turbo Cash. A reader is already wading into this game and has had early success. Check his comments in the comments section of the previous post. The problem with these Crossword games is that they are cheap on the top end. There are only 10 Grand Prizes of $50,000 each and a staggering 20 million tickets in the float. Facing odds of 2 million:1 in order to win $50,000 does not ring my chime. Further, one chance in 6.84 to win anything more than $3 is second worst in this group next to Quest For Gold Crossword. Yes, I know that you like the game. So do I but try to resist the temptation.

Personal Play

I am expanding my play in order to attack Cash for Life #1165. Last week I bought 10 tickets. That left my seller with one left in the rack. Now, I defy anyone to tell me that they possess the kahunas to leave the store with 10 tickets whilst leaving an orphan ticket left to be sold to the next person. So, 11 tickets contained five winners. One winner was a free $10 Cash for Life ticket that was worth $10. My total return was $38 for the $44 invested. I have now bought 40 of these tickets. I have cashed 35% of them for a total return of $116.

Closing Comments

Imagined transcript from an OLG headquarters meeting on game management:

Boss - How is that $1 Cash for Life game going?
Subaltern - Well, we've sold 85% of the tickets and there is still one grand prize left to be won.
Boss - Should we order up the final tranche of tickets from the supplier?
Subaltern - At this point we have sold 2.6 million tickets which should translate into a profit of $900,000. But, there is a juicy $67,500 prize left out there somewhere.
Boss - Good. How much do we make if we sell every ticket?
Subaltern - $1.2 million but if that Grand Prize ticket sells soon, that money will come out of our existing profits and we'll have to sell the 400,000 tickets in the final tranche without any Grand Prize left to be won.
Boss - I see. What is your recommendation?
Subaltern - I think that we should hold off on the final tranche. We then choke all the vendors by not sending them any tickets. Once we're reasonably sure that the winning ticket won't show up, we cancel the game making us the winner of the $67,500 ticket. If the winning ticket gets claimed soon then we order the final tranche and flog them to unsuspecting players everywhere.
Boss - Agreed. Good work Jimmy, you've got a future at OLG.

Good Luck to all this week.

Doug

  1. nice update doug, thanks for the s/o lol. I will be going to Casino lac leamy in quebec on the 30th weekend this month, and wanted to get your guys opinion if anyones been their, or to casinos in quebec in general if the slots payout the same as the ones in ontario, or close to it. Ive heard some people on some reviews say that quebec slots are "tighter" than most slots, anyone share some thoughts?

    1. I went to Casino Hull a few years back and won $250 on the slots as soon as I walked in the door. Unfortunately I was with people so I had to hang around and gave $75 of it back. We went up to Georgian Downs on the long weekend, I dropped $20 but my wife won $100 so no complaints there.

    2. Never going to get a true answer but the randomness makes people come up with all sorts of theories. A slot that is set to return 90% over 1000 spins can have a return of 40% to 140%. In the end slots win by attrition.

I did beat the casino today. I put $40 in one of the fancy 1 cent one Cash Spin I think as soon as I got there and 4 spins later I'm at $88. Now what I've been in the casino less than 1 min after a 45 drive. I cashed and moved to King of Pop $3.20 max bet but $1.7 million progressive. We'll a few seconds later I'm busted.

But i get my revenge. $20 in a game that has bonus rounds, I hit after a few spins, all said and done ended at $288. Cashed out $280 and called my luck over. Not much of a slot player though my players card reports $35 net loss in 2013 and with that win I'll likely up $100 this year. If I was at Lac Lemey I'd play ultimate Texas holdem. Still lose bad but it would last longer.

    5. The horse game seems cool but seems like lousy payouts lol

    6. UTH is a card game but you play against the dealer like in blackjack. Need to understand the basic strategy which isn't any more complicated than blackjack but it has much wider swings so you get good runs and bad runs.

I don't have any slot choices. I just play what looks interesting and has a bonus spins option because it takes more time to play.

    7. Vic - To be honest, usually when I am playing I don't win very much if at all. I'll grab the long odds and hope for the best. You won't get rich, but if your waiting for friends or the wife it's a great way to spend a half hour there. Hope you have a good visit!

    8. Vic,
I live in Ottawa. Lac Leamy just received a $50 m upgrade. I can no longer find my way around in there. I enjoyed the horse racing game mentioned by others but it is no longer there. It has been replaced by giant screens and betting terminals that look like they came out of the space shuttle.

They also have a new area where a dealer plays blackjack and baccarat as both the player and the house. Everyone is therefore winning or losing together. There is music playing and the dealers, who are young and good looking, are bantering with the crowd and cheering for them to win. It is a most peculiar thing. Check it out while you are there.

If you get a chance, check out the Rideau Carlton Race Course. This is Ottawa's answer to Lac Leamy. City council has decreed that any casino built in Ottawa must be built there. I can't see how any company will be interested with Lac Leamy across the river.

The slots there pay out at 92% as indicated at www.misesurtoi.ca . The OLG refuses to publish their number. There is also a booth just inside the front door where you can get lots of information about how slot machines work. The Government of Quebec is serious about addressing problem gambling.

Enjoy your visit and let us know what your thoughts are afterwards.

      Doug

    9. thanks for all the in-depth replies, i appreciate every one of your opinions, and doug, ill make sure i really get a nice look around and try the different areas they have to offer. the whole (dealer plays as a regular player and for the house) seems interesting, the whole reason why ill be at lac leamy is cause I'm 18 and would have to wait 4 more months when I'm 19 to be able to go gambling outside of quebec, but ill make sure i try out the rideau carleton slots someday.

I'm leaving to head to gatineau on friday coming back sunday, if anyone wants to meet up at the casino on friday or saturday night i would be glad to gamble with you fellow readers. thanks

  7. I saw a advertisement for a new $10 ticket (Is $10 tickets really popular or something because they seem to be coming out with new ones almost every week lol?) I just caught a look at it because I was busy shopping but it looks like the grand prize is a expensive car... Sounds interesting. I check the Lottery Booth and they didn't have any yet so I'm guessing it's coming soon thought I saw ads for the New $20 ticket for like 2 months before it came out.

  8. I've been doing good on turbo cashes, I've bought 6 total since its came out, and 3 of those 6 tickets, have been winners of 100, 45, and 30. the other 3 I've played were duds, but being up a good 150 from playing it 6 times is pretty good

  9. I've bought 4 Turbo Cash since it started and won nothing. I hate when that happens.
