Emerald 7's no sooner took over top spot than it lost a Grand Prize. It remains a good choice but our old friend Prestige has taken the opportunity to retake the top spot in the ratings. Both Prestige and $200 Million continue to lag in sales. $200 Million was the benefactor of an advertising campaign two months ago but its sales continue to inch along. It is now in its 11th month of sale and almost half of its float remains to be sold. The same is true for Prestige. Still, the Grand Prizes are there to be claimed for all who are so inclined.
Approximately 8 million tickets were sold last week on all games and a further 86 million remain available for sale.
A new $3 Scrabble Game and $2 Blazing 7's game was introduced this past week. The Blazing 7's game is OK but I'm not thrilled by its modest Grand Prize of $17,777. Of course, there are six of them to be won. The Scrabble game has a good prize distribution and begins its life rated in the middle of the pack of the $3 games. I enjoy playing Scrabble games which means I'll be bound to try some regardless of the rating system.
One poster asked how I know how many tickets are left to be sold for each game. I have written about this before and it is the most common question that I receive. I have explained what I do in the response to the question. To be clear - I am not privy to any more information than anyone else. I use what the OLG provides publicly to estimate the remaining float numbers. I am confident that the estimates will be very close to being correct in almost all cases. I am going to pull out an old statistics text book to see how I can establish mathematically the soundness of the method. That should put some readers to sleep.
Best to all.
Doug

$1 - $2 Game Update
Both the $1 and $2 Cash for Life games are highly rated. Don't look beyond those choices.$3 Game Update
Super Bingo 3013 is showing signs of moving into a territory where one can play the game. The jumbo Quest For Gold Crossword is a poor choice but its tickets are ubiquitous.$4 - $5 Game Update
Either Cash For Life game is an acceptable choice but Cash In and Emerald 7's are head and shoulders better choices.$10 - $20 Game Update
No change here. Anything but Classic Gold is a good choice. Even Classic Gold is not that bad but the other three provide more bang for your buck.Comings and Goings
The poorly rated Cherry Tripler was retired this past week. It had one Grand Prize left to be claimed. There will be no tears for that game.A new $3 Scrabble Game and $2 Blazing 7's game was introduced this past week. Personal Play
Five Emerald 7's tickets contained one winner of $14. My Lotto Max ticket was a predictable loser. This week I'll be spreading out over a few games as all of the top five games are very good choices.Closing Comments
Thanks for all the comments on the blog. i got 2 Prestiges tonight before i read this post and won $10 on 1 and $20 on the other, this is the first time i got this game too
ReplyDeleteThey also have Red Hot $50s in the Instant $1 Lottery Games section and a new $5 card called 20X Lucky on the OLG site, but i haven't seen them anywhere
ReplyDeleteThe last week was very good for me buying Emeralds. I kept winning or breaking even every batch I bought so I kept doing that. It took 5 times of buying 3-4 tickets at a time to finally lose. So overall I ended up over $40 ahead.
ReplyDeleteI do like Cash In and the prize is slightly higher but I can't deny Emeralds decent payback at the low end to keep you going.
Your ticket numbers for prestige is way off, the total number of tickets for the game is 14.6 million so I think you meant to say 800,000 tickets sold last week.
ReplyDeleteLotto max is $50 million + 50 max million which means your odds of winning a $1 million is the easiest of any lotto game right now if you play lotto max. Lotto max is a winner takes ll kind of game so anyone used to scratch tickets would be amazed as to how losses quickly pile up for lotto max, thats why I play in groups so you can share the losses and of course the eventual jack pot :)
Only hitting about 30% return on scratch tickets this weekend but a $50 win on Ontario 49 put us well up overall.
ReplyDeletebought 4 emeralds, 2 was a loss and the other 2 won $5.00 each. I took the winnings and bought 3 quest for gold crosswords 2 was a loss and the other won $15.00
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking the new poker lotto all in aspect they added to it, its a progressive jackpot thats starts at 10k, and rises to 90k+, the first person won this morning in brampton. they went all in for the extra dollar and won the jackpot of like 92k.
ReplyDeletei think this game has good odds when playing all in when the jackpot gets relatively high. No point in playing right after someone wins it, but when you feel the right time to play when the jackpot is really high. I was pretty frustrated this morning as i was going to play some all in tickets at around 9 AM and felt pretty confident on my chances as nobody won anything yesterday, and the jackpot was still growing from 90k. but decided not to go.
at 10 am i look on olg, and how ironic. someone in scarborough just hit it. lol so no point in even playing it today, I'm only going to play it once it gets to a high jackpot
Edit: someone from scarborough won, not brampton
ReplyDeletehi Vic whats the biggest amount u have won on instant?
DeleteIve been playin for about 6 months since ive hit the age to play, ive won a fluke 225 off a crossword trip back when i started , havent hit it since then ive hit 100 on a 20 dollar scratch and 75 off a prestige but all i continue to get right now are 50 and 40 dollar wins when i plAy 20 dollar scratches i find it kind of hard to go minus when playing the 20 dollar ones as there are alot of 40 and 50 wins out their, . But yeah ive been chasing the 200 mill card hoping i can hit 1000 or more. Good luck to the rest of you
ReplyDeletegood for you Vic... the most i won was 100 bucks on 3 $ scratch... idk how people win the bigger amounts
Deleteat this point, I've probably played more poker lotto recently, over scratches
ReplyDeleteJust played a Prestige and a Supreme, nothing on the Prestige but got 100 on the Supreme. Very happy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats:) see sometimes those supremes dont dissapoint lol
