Folks, I am back from the home of the brave with empty pockets. A seventy cent dollar bites and $27 USD on Powerball tickets were for naught. That said, there was some hair-raising excitement. Check the Post Script for details.
During my absence, the game of choice plowed through another 110,000 tickets without revealing the last grand prize. There are a mere 650,000 tickets left (8% of float +/- 3%). Over 25 cents of every dollar spent on the game from here on will go to that Grand Prize winner. That is an extremely high figure for scratch games, especially when you can expect a small prize return of 57%. The game offers $712,600 of Top Prize prize money left but $675,000 of that amount will go to the Grand Prize winner. Once it's won (if it's won), this game will go from the penthouse to the outhouse.
Four new games were introduced: $1 Hit 100 (rated 27th of 29), $3 Lucky Dragon (16th), $5 Money Multiplier (15th) and $10 Wild Ten's (11th). In total, there an estimated 99 million tickets available for sale which is just about what the OLG wants to supply at any one time.
Two days after I bought the tickets someone attempted to rob the store and ended up shot to death! Here's the article: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/ local/broward/deerfield-beach/ fl-deerfield-store-shooting- folo-20160116-story.html If you want to see the difference between our society and theirs, it's all in this article. Snippy certainly did not need any trauma counselling after killing the would-be thief.
For those who had questions about buying Powerball tickets and not being in the USA, here is an explanation from Forbes: http://www.forbes.com/sites/nathanvardi/2016/01/12/why-you-cant-buy-a-1-4-billion-powerball-ticket-online/#2715e4857a0b133000652c95 .
And lastly, I saw an item today on the anniversary of the launch of PlayOLG. The OLG Spokesperson said that the OLG is very pleased with the progress of the site. Their infamous "Modernization" report forecasted annual revenue of $89 million and a profit of $35 million in year one. The OLG refused to release the actual results citing reasons of competition. What malarky! Competition with whom? Media Relations Director Tony Bitonti sent his subordinate to deliver that canard. The reporter should have pressed him on the point but, alas, it was not to be.
Happy winter to all. Remember: scratching tickets burns calories.

My friend in Deerfield Beach took me to buy my Powerball tickets to a convenience store near to his abode. It was called "Snappy's" but my friend referred to the proprietor as Snippy due to his gruff demeanour. $10 Classic White 2 has all of it's grand prizes now claimed - the game is now deactivated - it has only one noteable prize of $50K available, but with an estimated 1/3 of tickets remaining, the odds to win that are now 1 in 2.6 million - to win more than $100 on this game the odds are 1 in 11,500 - in my opnion, this game should now be avoided.
ReplyDeleteCL66,
DeleteThanks, I had that game rated 21st of 29 before that news.
Doug
What are the stats on CFL 1167?
ReplyDeleteI've bought 20 in and around Hamilton in the past 10 days and haven't won on a single card! :-(
What Stats are you looking for? The game returns 66% of your money with 57% going to prizes of less than $100. Your chances to win any prize are 1 in 3.98 and your chances to win any prize greater than the cost of the ticket are 1 in 7.17. The latter number is not good.
DeleteAt present, 8% of the float remains to be sold. That should make them very hard to find as retailers are likely pushing version 1171 of the game which is not recommended.
Maybe he was talking about the PlayOLG site specifically? There is a lot of competition for the casino aspect of it, Canadians can play at other online casinos, im sure if someone wanted to create one him not saying anything wouldnt stop them, but maybe if he gave too much info on the money coming in it would motivate people that much more. Especially since its all done electronically, all you need is a server to host your software, even the online casinos with horrible looking games seem to be doing rather ok.
ReplyDeleteI mined bitcoins and litecoin for a while, they have some pretty crummy looking casinos for those currencies but it was pretty fun to play with money I didnt consider to be real anyway (never got a full bitcoin, got a couple litecoins though).
My play has been down a bit, those dragon tickets were killing me, and after hitting a losing streak with crossword triplers and those damn jackpot tickets I hadnt won anything in what seemed like weeks. Yesterday I went to get a poker ticket, won a bunch of free ones (didnt get anything on the draw last night though) and I got a couple $1 lucky lines tickets, won $1 on both of them, then when I cashed those in I got a Jackpot ($%#@) and a crossword tripler, won $15 on the tripler (4 black words and the tripler thing) got 2 more of those and got 4 words on both of them, but I havent cashed those in yet.
I dont really see anything but the crossword triplers that I like right now, I miss the wild card, the cadillac, the ruby ticket, I was hitting pretty regularly on those.
also, dont forget if you have any second chance bingo codes to enter that thing ends this month I think, I just put a whole bunch of them in, forgot I had them.
I won a $50 Best Buy gift card from those Mac's Flip the Lid coffee things, they seem to have a lot of winners in them, the big prizes you can only win if you get a code and enter it on the site, they did one for the froster slushies before too, from the frosters me and my girlfriend wound up winning 3 packs of jerky (which are around 7 bucks a piece) , a couple bags of candies, some free frosters, and 2 monster energy drinks, from the coffees weve won 2 pepperoni stick packs (about 4 bucks each) a bunch of coffees (which also gives you another chance to win, or a code), a bag of mixed nuts, and of course the $50 Best Buy card, I think I like it more than Roll up the Rim at Tim hortons, though the prizes arent as crazy, I dont get the coffee at Mac's though, I get their french vanilla, its pretty good.
Jason,
DeleteLove your post. Litecoin? Never heard of that before but I should do some research into what happened to bitcoin. Last I heard the founder committed suicide. Not a good sign.
To confirm, the OLG spokesperson was speaking only to PayOLG.ca. Unless I'm wrong, Ontarians are not eligible to play any on-line casinos other than PlayOLG.ca. That's not to say that there aren't any, but those that exist are operating from an offshore location.
PokerStars would be an example but if you play there you have to understand that they are not regulated and could simply disappear during the night. Their American customers found that out a few years back.
Doug
so if there are 94 'major' prizes left among 650,000 tickets, does that mean your chances of getting one of them is 1 in 14,462?
ReplyDeleteis that how you do the maths?
Not sure how you arrived at that number but your reasoning is correct. I estimate 651,723 tickets remaining (as of yesterday, +/- 3%, 19 times in 20). With 94 "Top" prizes remaining (any prize of $100 or more), I get the odds of winning one as 1 in 6,933. (651,723/94).
ReplyDeleteDo you feel lucky?
Despite how daunting that may sound, you can expect to obtain a return of 57% of your investment in prizes valued at less than $100. That might actually be better than the stock market these days :-)
Doug
As I mentioned, I hit a bunch of retailers in Hamilton looking for 1167.
ReplyDeleteBought about 20 tickets, not one winner!
That is terrible luck. This game offers a winner for one in every 3.98 tickets. That means that you have a 75% chance of getting nothing on any given ticket. For that to happen 20 times in a row represents one chance in 326.
DeleteYou're getting into the area of highly unlikely. I'd find another retailer before I bought any more from that location, of any game.
the worst part is that i spread it around! 4, 5, 6 from a few different locations :(
DeleteJust hit 300 on the tripler :D

DeleteHey Doug, as of recent I have been reading your posts in regards to CFL 1167. I am a younger OLG player and like many I have been eager in trying to find that last remaining grand prize. I dont have extensive experience with scratchies but I find it alot better then casino/slots because the payout is actually life changing. I have been to almost all stores in North Toronto, Vaughan, Richmondhill, Aurora area and cleared out the remaining CFL 1167's they had in stock. I am aware of the odds, which is why I have stuck to this ticket. I thought maybe finally it can be close to my home but unfortunately no luck yet. I feel like the ticket can be within a 100km radius of me. I know the previous winners are both from SW Ontario (London/Niagara) and both won in the same week of aug 20-25. I have done all the searching I could and I found most useful information on your blog and comments.
ReplyDeleteI just was hoping to ask you one question that maybe you could answer but possibly not. Do you think this last grand prize is more likely to be in a populos area like Toronto or a Rural town like Alliston? Obviously I dont expect you know where it is as im sure you would have found it for youself xD but hypotheticly speaking. I have been sticking to my budget on tickets and I will continue looking as long as my pockets allow me. Like you mentioned, 8% of the float remains and 1 grand prize is left. I feel like your experience could possibly answer my question because I feel like most rural communities no longer have these tickets available and some pockets of Toronto still have many. If you could maybe just generalize what odds are better in terms of where to search for this ticket. Also its coincedental that both tickets where given as gifts and purchased from Shoppers Drug Mart. Could the last one quite possibly also be in a Shoppers, it really is mind boggling. Hope this isnt overwhelming :P
Son Sonn,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your post. I'm impressed that you are taking a disciplined approach to scratch tickets and sticking to your budget. You are enjoying the fun of searching for the tickets and the anticipation that today may be your day.
As to your question, there has been speculation on the blog over time about how random the distribution of Grand Prize tickets is. If I had to bet one way or the other, I'd say that it is completely random but I still have a teeny bit of doubt about the question. It does strike me that a lot of Grand Prizes are won at Shoppers Drug Marts but maybe I'm suffering from a confirmation bias.
Your observation that you can find CFL 1167 in the GTA and not in rural areas is interesting. As has been detailed before, once the game reaches its deactivation date, retailers can no longer open new packages of tickets nor will new packages be shipped to them. Retailers can either return loose tickets or sell them. I'm not 100% sure but I think that that is the stage of CFL 1167. CL66 is diligent about posting that information. So, what you're likely seeing is larger retailers going through end of line tickets whereas smaller retailers have likely returned theirs and are displaying CFL 1171.
My advice to you is to just keep doing what you're doing. Play smart and be responsible. For $4 you get a one in 650,000 chance to win $675,000 with an expected small prize return of 57%. That said, another poster is currently on a 20 ticket losing streak with the game so don't get ahead of yourself.
You are going to have to be very very lucky to win but who knows? Maybe today is your day.
Good Luck.
Doug
$3 Crossword (green/yellow) was deactivated last Friday - it has a current estimated float of 5.4%/1.1 million tickets - this is the typical level at which a game gets deactivated - coming February 8th will be $5 "7-11-21" - this is a game where you typically scratch 3 numbers that need to add up 7,11 or 21 to win a prize, with 21 possibly meaning your prize could be doubled or tripled.
ReplyDeletei went into a retailer in Burlington ON tonight and was told that 1167 is 'deactivated'... he still has tickets, but is unable to 'activate' them apparently.
ReplyDeleteCFL 1167's last gp is highly likely not even out there...
ReplyDeleteThe game was deactivated 2 weeks ago, so the majority of tickets that were activated at that time have since been sold or have now been reclaimed by the OLG - retailers are eager to return tickets to receive credit on older games that no longer sell well and the new CFL game overshadows 1167 - it has a current estimated float of 645,000 tickets, yet i would estimate only 3% of that is out there today amongst 10,000+ retailers across the province, if so, then it's 97% likely that single gp isn`t out there - if i happened upon any of these tickets i wouldn't even buy one - i side with what's most likely and i see it as near fantasy to chase after this ticket - i aspire for a grand prize like anyone else, but i will only put my $ on what's likely, not on what's unlikely.
Is that actually possible? You see that's what my fear has been and I thought no one could answer my question... So maybe you can clarify this for me a little more, before I continue scratching more of these cards! Are you suggesting that the GP may not be for sale any longer? Does that mean it could be a card that has never been activated? Or are all remaining Grand Prizes activated before being available? Like OLG states the 1 golden card is remaining, that means that 1 card is possibly no longer on the shelf!?!? If this prediction is true then that is incredibly saddening for someone with hopes of big win against best possible odds, really the worst.
ReplyDeleteI truly wish that just somebody finds the winning ticket, rather than it go to waste. I thought about maybe someone has already won the ticket but has decided to hold it for any possible reason and not reveal till later. I mean OLG gives people a whole year to cash in and I think that's too long for scratch winners but not for lotto. Although I highly suspect anyone has yet to scratch that winner and still feel like I can find it in Toronto. I drove up to Barrie the other day, stopped at 10 different stores and did not find a single ticket. Meanwhile I have countless places I have purchased in bordering Toronto cities.
I really was thinking about your same theory but then I also feel lucky. In a dilemma now after playing several hundred tickets, if I should continue. Although, the pay back percentage has approx overall matched that 50%+, which is another reasoning to continue playing.
One more question, how much longer does this ticket have before it can no longer sell at all?
Thank you for your time.
Son Sonn,
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything that CL66 has said except his conclusion. It is true that the game has been de-activated and the probability is that no one will claim the last Grand Prize. That makes the OLG the actual winner. But none of that changes the odds for any ticket that you may purchase. All games are retired before the ticket float is completely exhausted and most games end up with one or more prizes left outstanding. In 2015, there were 59 games retired and 40 of them had at least one Grand Prize unclaimed at the point that they disappeared from the Outstanding Grand Prize listing.
The facts are that with an expected small prize return rate of 57%, each CFL 1167 ticket you buy will, over time, cost you $1.86. For that $1.86 you get a 1 in 650,000 chance to win $675,000. There is no other scratch game or Lotto game that has such good value for a Grand Prize.
If the OLG were to recover every unsold ticket as of today, they would realize a greater profit on the game than if they were able to sell every last one of the remaining tickets. If it's good for them to recover every unsold ticket then it's also good for you to try and find those tickets.
As for CL66's comment about what is likely versus unlikely, I would agree that finding the winning ticket is unlikley - very unlikely. But the same is true for every game. The current game with the best chance to win a Grand Prize is Merry Money at 265,000 to 1. But in that game your ticket costs $5 and the Grand Prize is $100,000. That's 25% more cost to cost for a Grand Prize 85% smaller.
Vive la différence!
Good luck!
Doug

I switched to 1171 and it redeemed CFL to me!
ReplyDeleteI won $15 on 6 tickets yesterday, and $44 on 5 tickets today!
(I bought 4 sequential tickets and one 7 up the stack... 3/4 on the sequential won $24 and I won $20 on the one further up)
Excellent! May the gods be with you.
DeleteOh man... I was really close to a big win on OLG Proline Pools. I had 9/10 games correct on Hockey pools on a $5 ticket (no games boxed). If I had all 10 games correct I would have won a nice payout of just over $3,300... :(
ReplyDeleteStarted reading your blog this week. Really appreciate the effort you are putting into it! Can't find 4 of the top 5 recommended games in Brampton area. I am 1 for 2 with $10 Diamond #1781. Will use the $10 win on the 2nd one to buy another.
ReplyDeleteAs a Brampton resident won a GP on CFL #1171 I am thinking that the odds of another GP being in the area would be very low. Still have 4 CFL coupons from the Holiday Pack. When I am in city next will try to pick some up there.
Will you be revising your top 5 game pick list soon?
Thanks and keep up the great work!
ScratcherMike,
DeleteWelcome aboard! I try to update the blog weekly. I miss the odd update if I'm traveling. I would encourage you to read the comments section between updates as lots of folks have very useful things to contribute. CL66 publishes his lists of odds on Fridays and many people use his information as part of their decision making.
BTW, Brampton is my home town although it's a lot bigger as compared to when I was living there. My Mom is still there so I visit often.

DeleteThanks for the info. I will checkout CL66's posting and look forward to your next weekly update. Brampton has definitely changed and grown.
This dude I watch scratch tickets on youtube won 200k the other day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Zkk4d2dQg4
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a few channels where people scratch tickets and record it, its weird though cause its mostly americans doing it.
Do you think it's a hoax.?.after all it's YouTube ..lol..
DeleteI've watched a few similar type channels also, one comes to mind is a British fellow who onnce a month scratches $200 quid of their tickets on his channel. .his trademark is whenever he wins he yells "winner winner chicken dinner"
He's a tad lame but also interesting seeing their scratch games.
In my youth there used to be an expression, "Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see." In today's world it should be updated to, "Believe nothing that you hear and nothing that you see."
DeleteI think that the video is a fake! A $200,000 winning ticket that the person scratches in a store and cashes it in. And he has a camera person there to record it all? I think not.

Interesting to see that $100 million Fortune and Cadillac Riches $10 tickets still remain for sale elsewhere in Canada. I saw some of these tickets on shelves in GTA retailers this week and looked them up. Still 4 and 3 grand prizes left on these two, respectively. Hasn't it been a couple months now since they were deactivated in Ontario?
ReplyDeleteI may see about buying few if I see them again. Still, this raises some of those old concerns for transparency. If they continue to be sold elsewhere with so many grand prizes and for so many weeks, is that an acknowledgement that OLG "knows" that no more grand prizes are left in Ontario, or is it simply a case of a different bureaucratic lottery management procedure?
https://www.wclc.com/games/scratch-n-win/current-tickets.htm
Cadillac Riches was available for an entire year before it was deactivated - it had reached it's "shelf life" - in it's last month of availabiliity it sold only 2.5% of it's float, retiring with 28.5% - the OLG and retailers live off of sales, prizes of any kind are a distant secondary cost-of-doing-business - both are eager to get rid of what's older and poor selling with remaining prizes being of almost no relevance.
Delete$10 cadillac must be close to it's expiration date which is printed on the back of all scratch tickets..
DeleteI tried to find information on who won the second chance cadillac prize but can't find it.I entered a bunch of entries near the cut off date.
Very odd still seeing those games still for sale I'd definitely check the expiration date before I bought one..A retailer could be in trouble for knowingly selling expired games.
I see that the two games (for Ontario, presumably the same elsewhere) have claim limits of May 2 and June 2 this year, respectively. That's four months max.
DeleteI think CL66's sales-based explanation makes some sense, though maybe it would be worth it to analyze how many similar games those other regions sell at that price point.
Still, the nagging question remains - when I see these still for sale in Ontario, is it a good gamble, or a stupid buy because the OLG bosses know something we don't about grand prizes possible in this region? When other regions maintain sales for so much longer, it really makes you wonder.......
Inter-provincial games launch on the same date but each region sets their own deactivation date - prizes won on these tickets can only be claimed within the region they were purchased - the WCLC uses "16038", which you will see on the barcode on the back of a ticket, eg. 16038-XXXXX - Ontario uses "04906" - the OLG sets it's date for when all prizes must be claimed by, typicaly 1.5-2 years after an expected deactivation date - with Cadillac Riches, as i have no ticket to confirm it, i can only go by when the game was deactivated, which was June 1st 2015 - it's claiment date should then be sometime in between January 2017 to June 2017, so it's safe to buy them now if you can find any - upon it's retirement with the OLG on July 1st 2015, Cadillac had 3 remaining grand prizes - the WCLC's latest figures for this game, dated January 21st 2016 show 3 grand prizes still remaining - it is rare to find tickets for sale so long after a deactivation date, but it can happen, mostly due to retailer mismangement - once i happened upon $3 Mah Jong tickets at a Loblaws Super Center 4 months after their deactivation.
DeleteI miss the Cadillacs man, that was my favorite ticket out of any Ive ever scratched, CL66 and Doug, do you remember what you ranked it? I dont think I was following the blog at the time but I used to hit $10 and $50 on that thing pretty regularly, think I won $100 once too, that and the ruby were my best runs with the $10 tickets.
DeleteWhen I typed Doug I typed "Dough" at first, might be a sign some "Dough" is coming his way :)
The first time I bought a $10 ticket it was a Cadillac. I was definitely stretching out of my comfort zone by choosing something other than a $3 or $5 ticket. I remember thinking it felt luxurious to scratch, somehow different and richer than the others, and when I won $50 on my very first one, I realized you get what ya pay for! ;) I know I one another $50 and another $10, but only played them sparingly. Paying $10 for a ticket that takes only a minute or less to scratch is something that challenges me, psychologically...;)
DeleteI remember it being sparkly on the scratch areas, thats probably why it felt like a better quality ticket. since I was playing those I rarely buy $3 tickets anymore, I seem to be able to roll $5 or $10 tickets (none of the recent 10s, but cadillacs and rubys) into sometimes being up or breaking even more frequently than $3 tickets.
DeleteIve won $100 on a lucky lines once, but that was the most Ive ever gotten on a $3 ticket, a couple $25 wins here and there but usually just $3 and even that is rare sometimes.
Wow just re-read my comment...obviously I meant "won" instead of "one"...sheesh!!
DeleteI'm with you on the $3 tickets. When I first found this blog, fruit explosions were doug's number 1 pick so I jumped on board. I managed to do well with those, winning $100 and $20+ a few times. But since then, I'm all about the cards I most enjoy, which happen to be the crossword Triplers. I managed to stretch one $5 tripler into 7 tickets after finally breaking even yesterday. It was a fun ride but left me with nothing to show for it! ;)
I remember reading the rules and they stated the winner would be contacted and had I think 10 business days to provide the winning code in order to claim the prize and if the winner couldn't provide the code another name would be drawn a binch of times. All I know is before I read that I threw out most of them.

I miss that Cadillac game as well, and Bonus CFL. I have noticed the '200 millions Extroardinaire' game prizes being claimed lately, and that game was retired like 8 months ago. I'm not impressed with the new $10 Wild for a GP of only $10K. The scratch ticket line up is terrible, hopefully new games appear for the spring.
ReplyDeleteSad thing is, the best bang for your buck for $1 million prize is actually the lotto max right now with all the prizes and not the scratch games. once again this is where my money is going this week.
I'm surprised no one has picked up $2.5 million win on Golden Treasures yet. Usually a grand prize always goes quick off the start.
I remember that Cadillac game and entering the online codes. Wasn't there supposed to be a draw for the online entries.
ReplyDelete1/3 now for the $10 Diamond. Used one of my coupons and bought the latest CFL at a Shoppers to no avail. Will probably direct the scratch budget to Lotto Max due to all the Maxmillions this week.
Oooh $100 would be nice!!
ReplyDeleteMy first Cadillac ever (I've bought 4) was a $50 win. And my first Spectacular (I've bought 4 or 5) was a $30. Since those two exciting wins for me (spending $10 on a ticket was a leap from spending only $3;) i haven't won on either. I really want to play these tickets given the statistics, but I'm feeling very gun-shy! I suppose that really is the nature of the beast we are courting....wildly unpredictable generosity or stinginess! I'm slowly learning the nuances around this game. As long as it feels fun and exciting then I'm good to play...the moment I feel like I need control an outcome, I better take a long walk in the park to remember we are all just spinning around on a rock in the middle of massive amounts of space...! Hahaha
Sam, I completely agree with you!!! Right down to your very real acknowledgment of where we are in the universe! That is something I'm very aware of...the nuance between choosing a ticket from a place of adventure versus a state of trying to control the outcome. As far as I'm concerned, this study is in the realm of science, specifically quantum physics, and as a student of such a topic, I'm interested to hear about the results of your experimentation. I wish you the best of "luck"! :)

Thanks for posting Dan. I admire the good record keeping.
DeleteDan knows how too copy/paste.
DeleteThat's one of my posts from just over a year ago..
Anon theory guy stirring pot again .
I wish someone could work out a map that shows wins to the west of Peterborough, seems like so many winners come from that side of the map. If you look at the poker lotto winners, it mostly that area. There was a winner here in Kingston that won a million on the 649, I thought "man, that doesnt happen often" then the news said he bought his ticket in toronto, lol, something fishy going on there.
ReplyDeleteDamn Bonus Cash for Life 1168 took another hit, now down to 3 out of 5 "LIFE" prizes
ReplyDeleteHi Doug and Gang
ReplyDeleteDoug you mentioned that you got an invite to play the OLG Online Casino have you tried it yet? I just go an email a few days ago and they gave me 10.00 to try it out Big Deal...lol
If anyone has already used our New Online Casino I would love to hear how you did.
I'm going to check it out in the next few days and probably play Black Jack or Roulette...I hate Slots too bad they don't have Craps. Its all run by RNG too bad they don't have live dealers but they wouldn't make enough money this way they can say it's Random and I have a hard time believing that, I've been up thousands and then all of a sudden I lose every single hand? Ya Right. When I've played Live Dealers online I've done really well and rarely lost to be honest.
Thanks Everyone for leaving your replies and it's nice to see some new names on here as well.
Best of Luck to Everyone this Week. :o)
Shelley,
DeleteYes, I played with my free $10 until it was gone. Someone posted early on that they had won almost $1000 but gave it all back and then some.
I would never play unless I knew for a fact that the poker and roulette is a true replica of the actual game and not just a disguised slot machine programmed to a house take of 15% and not the 4% that a true version of the game would be. The wild swings in fortune seem to indicate that things are not as they appear.
Doug
Jason,
ReplyDeleteAs i recall, Doug did not ever rate Cadillac as one of his top choices, while i always rated it very highly. Cadillac came out June 2nd 2014, but my first overall ratings of games here was not until August 8th 2014, at that time i had Cadillac as #1. My "formula' did change at a point, so scores were higher than what i woud give it now. While i do rate on a weekly basis, here's how i rated Cadillac monthly, from beginning till it's retirement:
#2 August 28 2014 85/100
#1 September 26 2014 84/100
#1 October 31 2014 80/100
#1 November 28 2014 79/100
#1 December 24 2014 79/100
#1 January 31 2015 82/100
#1 February 27 2015 79/100
#1 March 26 2015 80/100
#1 April 24 2015 75/100
#1 May 28 2015 77/100
#1 June 26 2015 70/100
If the game was newly released now, with the same prizes, quantity of prizes and amount of tickets, compared to all current games, i would rate Cadillac as 73/100 making it #1. $5 Money Multiplier i rate as the current #1 at 69/100. As i see it, there seems to been a trend to reduce how good games are now compared to before. $3 Crossword 3212 (winter words), which is a massive selling regular games, had 28% less tickets than $3 Crossword 3210 with 75% less prizes of $50 and 73% less prizes of $100!
I knew the cadillacs were good, wasnt sure if I was just getting lucky or not with them. I had a feeling that the games were getting worse, probably why Im having a hard time finding ones I like, I used to have 3-4 tickets I enjoyed picking from and right now Im lucky if theres 2 I like, kinda been like that for a bit now.
DeleteI played the Cadillac's but to be honest I hated the feel of them as weird as that sounds and I don't recall winning much and I would put in the codes every time I bought one.
DeleteLol..the cadillac was somewhat decent to me if I remember it had decent odds of around 1 in 15ish for the 5x $50 winners...I also recall the weird feeling of the scratch off area as feeling like a layer thin sandpaper. .the spectacular tickets also have a similar texture..And for the second chance prize I tried to find info on who or where it was won too no avail. Someone posted earlier about needing to produce the ticket stub with the code to claim your prize if you won..Well I threw mine all in the trash..lol..I guess next time I should read the fine print. .
DeleteWith the big lotto max this Friday I'll likely put my scratch ticket budget towards all those big fat prizes.
Also I just read that 6/49 is having another super draw coming up with 10 guaranteed prizes of $100k in addition to the $1m prize.
Good luck everyone
You are correct CL66; I never liked the game. It was the low small prize return rate that did it in for me. You liked the game for the same reason. (ie - fewer small prizes meant more medium prizes)
DeleteCL66 I just found a convince store with a lot of the $10.00 Gift Pack, I bought 2 of them and won $8.00 he has at least 20 packs left so I will drag them out of the store slowly....lol I know you rated it at the top for all $10.00 games is that still the same for this?
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your reply.
Thanks.
Hi Shelley,
DeleteI just checked the unclaimed prize page stats for it and it hasn`t seen any significant changes since my last "number crunch" so my last rating is unchanged.
Of all 30 games, i rated the Gift Pack as:
#2 overall game
#1 $10 game
#6 on odds to win $50,000 or more
#2 on odds to win $5,000 or more
#3 on odds to win $1,000 or more
#4 on odds to win $250 or more
#2 on odds to win $100 or more
#6 on odds to win 8-10x your $ or better
#18 on odds to win 6-8x your $ or better:
#19 on odds to win 5x your $ or better
#21 on odds to win 4x your $ or better
#27 on odds to win 3x your $ or better
#10 on odds to win 2x your $ or better
#2 on odds to win any prize
Odds as of today are 1 in 395,000 for it's single remaining $50,000 grand prize.
You said you had won $8, the minimum prize for the Gift Pack is $10, if your able, please check your tickets from it again, it seems you missed a $2 win.
With the OLG online contest codes - they state "Though OLG does not require you to keep the original Contest Code(s), it is recommended you retain the code(s) for your records." - also "the Grand Prize winner will be posted after the contest is closed." - while entering various contests of these before, i never happened upon seeing a posted grand prize winner of any "2nd chance internet contest", but i wasn't looking too anyhoo as i could care less if someone else wins it lol - to those who may be interested with the current "Bingo" 2nd chance internet contest, it closes this Friday, so perhaps you can see a posted grand prize winner for it next week.

Deleteguy from edmonton won I guess.
Thnx Jason. I'm glad someone actually won the car..
DeleteThanks Cl66
ReplyDeleteI haven't checked my tickets so your probably right about me missing something. I was actually surprised to see them most everyone down here in my neck of the woods doesn't have them out.
Good luck to all.
