"For the loser now, Will be the later to win, For the times they are a changin." - Bob Dylan
In the three years that I have been writing this blog, never has a $1 game reached the #1 spot. These games operate under a house advantage of 40% which makes it nigh impossible to compete against games that can have an advantage of up to 10%. But there is a first time for everything.
Bingo Express has 2 of its 4 Grand Prizes of $10,000 left to claim and an estimated 13% (+/- 3%) of its tickets to sell. Your estimated chance to win one is one in 200,000 for your $1 investment. In total, 30% of all the money associated with the top prizes is available to be won with the 129 top tickets left to be claimed. If you can find any of these babies around, invest a few dollars.
A poster mentioned recently that a new version of Ontario Millions appeared on the Outstanding Prize list then just as quickly disappeared. It was an earlier version of this game that first "pulled my chain" and led to the creation of this blog. That version was withdrawn with 2 of its 3 million dollar Grand Prizes outstanding after having sold 80% of its float. The OLG told me at that time that Ontario Millions would never return as it had proven not to be popular with Ontarians. I guess 3 years is considered to be for ever in the modern world :-) I'll be watching this development closely.
There have been many comments posted to the blog since the last update. They represent lots of interesting commentary and I enjoy reading them all. I salute all posters for always ensuring that their posts are respectful and positive. That is not always the case on the internet. It speaks to class of Scratch Ticket players, IMO :-)
I should comment that I was glad to see the labour conflict settled between the OLG and its soon to be "modernized" staff. We can all play knowing that those employees have agreed to the terms of their employment. The conflict had the effect of presenting the OLG's Media Relations Manager to the public, Toni Bitonti. Here he is! A fine looking and amiable chap.
I close with a link to an OLG job posting whose credentials, I believe, are met by many of the posters to this blog. http://bit.ly/1l6BE6C I have never fancied the prospect of living in Sault Sainte Marie but that salary looks awfully attractive....

The OLG certainly wants us to be filling our stockings this year. A number of new games have come on line bringing the total number of games for sale to 35. Three of them are contained within the "Family Pack" so you could argue that the total is 33. Still a lot, and those games represent 108 million tickets. That is about 15% above the normal inventory. We should look forward to seeing either the retirement of some games or a passive period of time upcoming.A poster mentioned recently that a new version of Ontario Millions appeared on the Outstanding Prize list then just as quickly disappeared. One of our early posters, Shelley, has mentioned that she received spam that she feels is associated with this blog. It is not unusual for me to get spam as I suspect that clever people can find out the e-mail address associated with the site. When I flip to the blog to delete the post it turns out that the message was not posted to the comments. Now we can see that some even smarter people are able to harvest the email addresses to posters. I'm sorry about that but I'm not sure what can be done. I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.. "
CL66,
ReplyDeleteYeah. I'm going to take a close look at my formula to see how that happened. It might be reason enough to tweak it somehow.
Doug

Well I jus cashed in my $50 diamond winner and bought another and won another $50 I'm 2 for 2!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I can sort of guess which game you'll be eyeing next... LOL!
DeleteTmF
Glad to see someone winning on that ticket! I'm 0/7 I believe and I've given up on it. You're getting the better half of the statistics!
DeleteI hope my last entry/story gave some readers a laugh or a gaffaw or a chuckle or even a smirk....
ReplyDeleteAnd the last blog entry's 156 comments beat the 2011 ANNUAL total by... um... 156 comments! Congrats, Doug!
Well, I will close the books on Aces & 8's with a hit rate of 50% and a return of 50%. It was basically losers and 1x wins with that one. Granted, didn't play too many. Guess my experience early on with any game seems to influence my enthusiasm for continuing to play it. Anyone else feel like this?
Some good news... I decided to torture myself again with a match-3 game instead of my favourite Crossword Tripler but this time managed to win a 2x$5 on a Money Multiplier. Finally!!! Still don't like the gameplay though but a win's a win.
As for the $1 Bingo Express taking top billing this week, well, sometimes what we see is what is. After all, the sun moves in the sky so the earth MUST be the center of the universe and when I look down the street it's OBVIOUS the earth is flat, right? If one's evaluation mathod places some emphasis or weighting on the top prize and there's some logic and reasoning to it, then I think we should accept the result if we accept the logic and reasoning behind it. Ultimately, we're all applying a strategy which we hope explains our experiences and we're all looking at the same data. If that $1 game had two top prizes left and 10,000 tickets estimated outstanding, I, like most readers would probably be out there scavenging for them without questioning the fact that it's a $1 game. Just my opinion here. As always Doug, your decision is respected.
I for one will give Bingo Express a try and even Cashingo despite my horrid luck with all games 'bingo' recently.
Hmmm, that job listed does sound interesting and it would be a step up from what I'm doing right now (OLG coat check guy).... Nah... too much work and effort... And Sault Saint Marie too... no thanks!!
Good luck, all!

P.S. I'm not really a coat check guy... or am I? Evil laugh goes here!
Guys, the OLG is a scam, save your money.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible bonus gift in the gift pack this year.... $2 off a cash for life ticket? So you end up still paying for a ticket that has barely any top prizes left? What a joke
ReplyDeleteThat game has one grand prize left and 2.8 million tickets to sell. Not surprising that a new version of this ever popular game has yet to be launched - OLG wants to dump the existing supply. Kinda smart when you think about it --- on their part.
DeleteDoug, I am glad your period of mourning for the loss of Stephen Harper is over, LOL.! Good to hear from you again. Don't worry, Justin is more than just a nice head of hair!
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking this week of how lotteries may be a bit of a canary in the coalmine for the economy in general. Whether bought with disposable cash or credit, lottery ticket purchases signal a certain level of confidence in the general economy, at least on a personal level.
So I am interested to see how the Caritas hospital lottery in Edmonton has just had its deadline extended by three weeks (Alberta lets charity lotteries do this) due to weak ticket sales.
https://homelottery.ca/caritas-foundation-lottery-extends-deadline-2015-fundraiser/
I recently bought a Cancer Society lottery ticket in Ontario, near the final deadline, and the ticket number tells me that they have fallen well short of their target, about 20% below a sellout. Princess Margaret is also nearing its early bird deadline, and is not bragging about a near sellout, unusually. I hear other charity lotteries are also not doing very well.
The reports on here about slowing scratch sales suggest the same. It seems many Canadians are tapped out, the economy rather weak, with many people having pumped their funds into an epic housing bubble that will be bursting any month now. (Full disclosure: I sold my home and now rent, and cannot believe the ridiculous prices many now pay for homes in the GTA. It reminds me so much of 1989, and I expect a crash of at least 50% within a couple/few years) The just launched Heart and Stroke lottery has reduced ticket numbers from 220,000 last year to just 129,000, a sure indicator of reduced sales hopes, and most of the prizes suck, lots of $25 prizes that are less than 25% of the cost of a ticket!
Amidst all of this, thanks are due to you Doug and posters here helping everyone navigate the world of scratch lottery to try to play with the best possible odds.
It does seem we are heading for some tougher economic times, with less money for lottery amusement. The enormous housing debt bubble that Harper policies have created will likely take a lot of the oxygen out of the lottery playing market as it deflates.
So it is especially useful to hear the insights here of which games might be better to play, on a week by week basis.
I buy the occasional hospital - usually cancer society & sick kids. I did win a 1oz gold bar 2 years ago. But there are so many of these lotteries now and also the number of tickets per draw are rising. What was 80,000 becomes 95,000 becomes 115,000, etc. Really need to read the fine print.
DeleteSo in the case of not selling out, did they increase the number of tickets too much. For example, I didn't buy H&S last year for exactly that reason of too many tickets vs good prizes. Sick kids has had 1:80,0000 to win $1 million in the past.
As for scratch I've only bought 5 Wild Cards in the last 2 months and 0 wins. I was hoping for Ontario millions to whet my appetite but I guess I will have to wait.
Jay, you raise a good question on numbers of charity tickets being sold. In the lotteries I mentioned, the numbers have all dropped in terms of offerings.
DeleteThe Cancer Society Daffodil daily lottery in 2014 offered 200,000 tickets and did not quite sell out but came close I understand. This year's offering saw them lower expectations, offering only 120,000 tickets, and only selling about 98,000. I have seen this trend with other major charity lotteries for about 18 months now.
And of course when the ticket numbers are reduced, the prize values go with them. Sick Kids lotteries are notorious or offering "1 in 2" odds of winning, with a lot of little prizes with inflated retail values that suggest they cover the ticket purchase cost if you bought a multiple ticket package. (Nice way to fool yourself that you've broken even, I figure) But the H&S takes this to a new low this year, explicitly offering some 46,000 cash prizes of $25, with a ticket price of still $100 (or 5 for $375). So they're not even trying to pretend that you might break even, and this is over 84% of all prizes offered. But it lets them say you have a "1 in 2" chance of "winning".
I smell desperation here, a time of reckoning over a crowded market and tapped-out consumers, and would not be surprised if the new H&S lottery is an epic fail. Expect some other lotteries like this to close up entirely. Red Cross and the Oshawa and Ottawa Civic hospital foundation both quit within the last two years for similar reasons. Others, like H&S and Sick Kids have reduced the number of annual lotteries, and purchase periods have expanded from 2-3 months to 6 months, making it much harder to maintain interest and create that marketing/novelty feedback loop that sellers desire. It's no surprise that Alberta lotteries are in trouble, with the job losses there now dramatically affecting real estate values.
It's all a bit like the Pink Ball Shop 4 Charity draw that's been all over the tv lately. A good cause(breast cancer), but a bit of a game from the odds/costs perspective. You can spend $500 on 50 calendar entries and get "gifts" of "$500 value" as well. Or, you can just mail in to get tickets for free, since it is a "contest" (with unlimited entries) rather than a true lottery.
It makes me wonder about things like break-open tickets. Has anyone here played those? They seem to have pretty poor odds.
So overall, it appears that what is happening with various charity lotteries underscores that well-chosen scratch games, with SPPB returns in the 60% range are the best bet for most. Interesting that relatively there are so few ads for these scratch tickets, in contrast to the charity lotteries that are wall-to-wall on tv, surely making the broadcasters very happy with the revenues.
My girlfriends dad plays those break open tickets every now and then, spends 5 bucks, usually gets a few dollar wins and then gets some more, he has won $100 on it a few times, I guess thats why he plays. My girlfriend plays them too, mainly because her dad likes them, my mom used to play them alot, when we lived in a smaller town with only one store, she knew the people who owned the store pretty well so if someone already won all the big prizes out of it they would let her know, or if someone hadnt and there wasnt many tickets left they would tell her too, I remember her winning that a lot when I was a kid, lol.
DeleteI bought some of those charity lottery tickets a while back, I think I spent $500 on however many I got (it was around the time my aunt passed away from cancer, so it was a cancer lottery ticket) I didnt win anything though, never played again, the price is just too high on those things, Im not sure who theyre made for, most people throw those flyers in the garbage when they get them.
Jason, are those break open tickets run by the OLG? Where would you get odds information on them? Just curious as I usually prefer to scratch than to pull.
DeleteTmF
Im not sure if the OLG runs them, I was told before that certain charities provide them to the stores. Though at the bingo hall here they have these large machines that give out the break open tickets, and that hall is an OLG hall so I assume those would be OLG tickets, not sure though.
Deletehttp://www.agco.on.ca/en/services/licence_breakopen_LRM.aspx
My play has been pretty weird lately, Im having a hard time finding a ticket I like really.
ReplyDeleteI did get some of the new tickets, 2 Merry Money tickets, didnt win anything, Frosty Tripler, didnt win anything, actually in the pile of the last tickets I bought I didnt get a single win, lol, 2x merry money, 1 frosty tripler, 1 bingo doubler, 1 crossword tripler, 1 bingo, and 1 goldern 7s, lol.
That was $28 bucks from tickets I bought the previous day, 1 Crossword Tripler ($5 win) 1 Bingo Doubler ($10 win) 1 Instant Bingo ($9 win) 2 Poker lotto (free ticket win and $5 win)
So I spent 16 the other day, won close to 30 then put that back into tickets and didnt win a thing, lol.
With the Cadillac tickets gone I cant find a $10 ticket I like, lately where I would get a $10 ticket Ive just been getting two 5's lol
So I'm writing in response to CL66's comments last week about calling me a troll/spammer. First off, I have been commenting on this blog for a little more than a year now. I was most famous for purchasing a significant amount of $200 Extraordinaire and CFL tickets; then I decided to take a break over the summer from purchasing scratch tickets like most do. Now, I have returned purchasing the new $20 Extreme Millions ticket, winning $100 just last week. Now, in regards to trolls, according to the movie 'Ernest Scared Stupid', featuring Jim Varney aka Ernest P Worell, the troll turns children into wooden dolls and the only way to get rid of the troll is to show him love and not ignore him like CL66 suggested. Now back to scratch ticket talk:
ReplyDeleteIn response to Doug's printing and prize distribution. I do believe him when he says that it would be ridiculous for the OLG to print all of the tickets at once for a game as this would be extremely costly and wasteful. However, because of this, what are the true odds of a game? For example, You honestly don't know for sure how many of those major GP tickets are going to be printed before the game is retired. Therefore, the odds displayed on the website are truly a LIE, and should have an asterisk beside saying *Odds may vary. In simpler terms, if there are 5 Grand Prizes to be won and odds of winning a Grand Prize are '1 in a million' but the OLG only ends up printing out 3 during the game's lifespan....then THESE ODDS ARE A LIE! Therefore, this becomes apart of the "Anonymous Theory."
Also, I have noticed that the "Anonymous Theory" has become somewhat controversial as of late, just look at the enormous amount of comments of Doug's blog as of late!
Anonymous,
DeleteI recall CL66's post and I don't think that he meant anything truly pejorative by using the word "troll". My read was that he was suggesting that your theory about non-random Grand Prize winning ticket distribution as a means to cushion a drop in the housing market was a bit toward the edges.
The word has taken on new meaning in our times. I have a friend who has had a troll collection for many years. They were cute little dolls that children would play with 30 years ago - nothing adverse.
I appreciate your contributions and would recommend that you choose a "handle" when commenting. I know that's a bugaboo for CL66. Doing so would serve to distinguish your comments from the other "Anonymous" contributors.
Best
Doug
Anonymous,
DeleteI happen to believe the printing is all done at once so I guess the games are fair to me.
I happen to respectfully disagree with Doug and CL66 when it comes to the printing. I base my position on OLG's PDF info pages which state "Tickets received:", which I would take to mean from the printer/manufacturer.
As for waste and cost, that would be paid for from the OLG's minimum 30% hold on instant games. I would guess the OLG wouldn't mind being wasteful and less cost efficient if it removes the argument that there might be some impropriety in their processes.
Also, an article with an interview from an insider who states, "The game is printed all at once. It isn't done in phases, and a game's prize structure doesn't change once it's set. It is possible for the top prizes from a game to be claimed within the first few weeks after a game ships."
http://www.businessinsider.com/an-insider-shares-the-secrets-of-the-state-lottery-2012-3
Granted, there's no guarantee the OLG operates in 100% the same way. And it's true there's a lack of total transparency in some of the things the OLG does.
Still, I remain open minded and am willing to examine any hard evidence of the situation no matter which position it points to.
TmF
Tommy,
DeleteI'm going to undertake some research on the subject.

DeleteHow do you guys buy your tickets? I usually buy from a fresh book and get consecutive ticket numbers. Sometimes I get close to breaking even, other times are a complete bust. The other night I picked random tickets and ended up winning $21 on a Tripling 7s ticket. Tonight I bought Wild Card tickets 000-006 and will be scratching them soon. I know the ticket numbers don't matter but it still feels like they could.
ReplyDeleteI just pick randomly. Back in August I bought a ton of 15X tickets and saw no patterns that suggested buying consecutive serial numbers made any difference. Sometimes I'd get 3 winners in a row and sometimes I'd get 5 losers in a row.
DeleteDo you always buy tickets at the same retailers? Lately I've been buying tickets at a different store every time, as opposed to sticking with one or two places. I figure if everything is distributed randomly, why not throw a bit more randomness into the equation?
I always get the 3rd ticket, I like the number 3, my mom says she gets the 8th and my girlfriend always grabs randomly. Ive seen people say all kinds of things about only buying low numbered tickets, or also trying to get the highest number, I dont know about all that.
DeleteLately Ive been trying to change up the stores I go to, I refuse to buy at a drug store though, shoppers, Pharma Plus, or grocery stores have never once given me a single win, never, i dont know why, it doesnt make sense statistically, but it is what it is, even this small drug store that isnt a huge chain, never won a single thing, its pretty crazy when I think about it, scratch tickets, 649, lotto max, any of the instant lotto games, never win a damn thing, lol.
Thats also true for like giant tiger and walmart also, though I havent bought that many at walmart, giant tiger has never given me a win either, I have 2 stores that I usually go to that have given me most of my wins, sometimes after Ive hit a few times there I try a smaller store somewhere else, this one I like cause the lady is always happy and shes super positive, but I dont win there either, over the last week Ive said Im gonna take a little break, then Im only buying tickets at my usual 2 stores, which is a Macs and a Pioneer gas station.
Funny you say that about drug stores, I've had the complete opposite experience. A couple of my biggest wins have come from Shoppers Drug Mart locations. Their selection is typically limited so I don't buy tickets there often, unless I'm buying something else and see a ticket I was going to purchase somewhere else anyway.
DeleteWhen you look at http://dart.olg.ca Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) locations pop up quite frequently on the list, so it's not like winners aren't sold at their stores! But statistically there are so many Shoppers locations around Ontario that there would almost have to be lots of winners.
JayDee,
DeleteI have noticed that as well. The thing I don't like about Shoppers Drug Marts is that each cashier has their own tray of tickets. They are generally a sampling of all tickets so I am unable to pick up five tickets of the same variety as it would involve calling all the other cashiers to the front and buying from them individually.
Their philosophy is that a ticket purchase is a random event and the buyer will make his/her decision based upon how pretty the ticket is or how much it costs. They don't anticipate rapacious buyers like us scouring stores for hidden gems :-)
Doug
I knew someone would comment saying theyve won at drug stores, lol, I just mean for me personally, whenever Ive gone there and gotten tickets I havent won anything, like I said statistically speaking, there would HAVE to be winners there, thats why its so weird that I never hit there.
DeleteWhen i check the DART though it only shows 3 winners for where im from, and none of them are scratch tickets, lol, one is a loblaws, one SDM and one at the mall, heh.
I once tried closing my eyes and slamming my middle finger down on what I believed to be the winning ticket...
Delete... but it hit the rim of the bowl of soup the retailer was having for his lunch.... What a mess! My mother went ballistic on me in front of everyone. Needless to say, I don't that anymore.
Now I just take any ticket. Why? Because you really don't know where from the pack they come from as the retailer replaces the ones that are bought. That means buying side-by-side tickets in the display doesn't necessarily mean they were side-by-side in the pack.
And I doubt the manufacturer would make winning/losing information so easily available in the form of the ticket pack position number (but one can hope!).
TmF
P.S. I've always done poorly at SDM and I don't think I can take the evil eyes of the customers waiting behind me at the grocery store(s) so I've never dared getting tickets from there!
Tommy,
DeleteLove your tales. I don't buy from SDM for the same reason. I generally buy from convenience stores and if I am buying multiple tickets from the same game I always ask the seller to select the required number from within his/her supply.
When it comes down to it, I figure that they're bound to be luckier that I am. They don't call me "The Cooler" for no reason....
Doug

Number and name of the game, expected Small Prize hit rate & percentage, expected SPPB percentage and the games based on amount.
There are some double entries for illustrative purposes... they show how the SPPB may or may not be influenced by the number of games played used in the calculation.
For example, if like me, you have average luck or play a relatively limited number of games, you would probably be better off using the smaller games played SPPB %'age since your experience will more likely be reflected by this number. If you have above average luck or are a more prolific 'scratcher' your experience would more likely be reflected in the higher games played SPPB %'age.
With a game like #3018 Super Bingo, there's little difference. With a game like $500 Frenzy, there's a bigger difference.
Given the choice between games of similar SPPBs, I would lean towards the game that requires less games played to achieve that percentage. An example comparing $10 games, with Classic White 2 at 59.4% (591) and Diamond Payout at 59.0% (367), I would lean towards Diamond since it takes few games to achieve the SPPB. Comparing the $3 games Keno 60.7% (400) and Crossword 60.2% (127), I am more likely to achieve the SPPB with Crossword without having to play more games. This works on the idea that more games are required to hit the higher prizes.
Keep in mind the limitations of this information!!! There's nothing related to the top/middle prizes, how many are left or the odds of hitting them. For that, CL66's listings are invaluable.
Also, there's no way to measure how lucky you are or what experiences you will get. As always, nothing is guaranteed except perhaps that your experiences will be different from mine and from the percentages listed.
Given my luck level and buying habits, I try to look for games with high SPPB (obviously) but with the games played amount in the 350s and less area (and where I seem to be lucky!). But that's just me.
GLTA,
TmF
Thanks Tommy. Interesting and useful.

Your welcome Tommy - i`m almost thinking of renaming this in your honour lol - perhaps "TmF's Choice # Crunch": "nutritious all-in-one info with a prize is every box kiddies!" (^_^) - i appreciate any feedback from you or anyone else here on the odds-help info i post here - like / don't need / etc.
DeleteWell, checking the crunch is a good way to start the day...
DeleteYou deserve all the credit for this one! I did once try to find a way to compare games across the different categories but couldn't do it as some games have 5x prizes and some don't. Kudos to you for finding/using the 6x-8x and 8x-10x category -ranges-!
Continued good luck and good karma to you!
TmF
Tommy, re: "tickets received"
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, based on my job of working in the printing industry, "tickets received", does not neccesarily equate to "tickets printed". Orders we receive have an inital quote that often does not match final quantities. Cost controls are imperative to help maintain profit margins. No business i feel could last long with an "m.o." of "wouldn't mind being wasteful and less cost efficient". It is my estimate that, a 10% loss on printing and distribution costs on a run of 3 million tickets would be a minimum of $75,000. There are 35 games listed currently, if applied to all of those games, that would be over $2.5 million! OLG product is done "in-house", meaning they own their own facilities, this lowers costs and helps them assure control and integrity with their products. I beleive the OLG is also the sole printer/distributor of all inter-provincial games, seeing that the bulk of the tickets are for Ontario. My "insider", who works for the OLG, hasn`t had a raise in 3.5 years now. They haven't passed on any promotional materials to me in months now due to budget cuts. You referenced an american "anonymous state lottery worker" story from 3.5 years ago. I side more with known current info that's for Ontario from somone that i personally know who is an OLG employee. With the recently retired $10 Fortune inter-provincial game, an estimated 43% of the tickets were not sold. The OLG'S share of these tickets would then be some 2.6 million. If all these tickets were actually printed, the loss on this would near $800,000! I find it hard to beleive that much is being taken as an acceptible loss on a single game and just being dumped out for recycling. Since the OLG does not state total transparency on all operations (does ANY government department?), which they are entitled too, we can only surmise on the uknowns.
p.s. - karma for today, so far, was a 1 in 1,000(!) $25 win on a $2 Golden 7's - it ain't much, but every little bit helps (^_^)
Nice win, CL66!
DeleteIf " "tickets received", does not neccesarily equate to "tickets printed" " (!), then I'm totally confused and out of my league here.
I'll let you and Doug try to figure this one out!
TmF
CL66,
ReplyDeleteDo you mean to say that OLG does all of its own printing and distribution? I would doubt that. From what I have read the printing of scratch tickets is a very sophisticated process and there are only about 3 companies in all of North America that compete against each other for the contracts for all jurisdictions. There's lots of work to go around.
It is my view that they contract out the printing function. I agree with you about printing it batches. Maybe it was you that swayed me....
Doug
Doug,
DeleteI haven't been in touch with my insider for awhile, the next time i am, i'm going to ask them about this - i beleived at first that they are contracted out, but having heard my insiders often comments about pressure for profits, it makes sense that they are possibly doing it themselves (as in for all Canadian lotterys) - it wouldn't look good on them if it was all done by an american company! - the process as i see isn't complex, "blanks" are done first (as in all standard group text and graphics) on fronts and then on the backs, then the individual "results" graphics/numbers with "key i.d." codes text and lastly the scratch coating graphics application - where i work we don't offer such a full process, but i do know of companies here that can do such - the issue here would be the MASS quanities involved, and i`m unaware of a place in Ontario who could do such, but i would not be surprised if the OLG has a place that ONLY prints tickets for themselves and other lotterys across Canada from a non-descript mostly unknown facility.
Finally found a Tripling Red 7s, they didnt have very many so I just got one, as well as a Lotto Max for tonight, GL everyone!
ReplyDeleteHere's a Canadian company that produces scratch tickets.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pollardbanknote.com/about-us
Scientific Games & Gtech Printing are a couple of others that I think are in the U.S.
Lloyd has found it!
DeletePollard Banknote Limited IS the printer of OLG scratch tickets - 3 of 5 of their facilities are in Canada - 1 of those is in Sault Ste. Marie, which is also home to 1 of the 2 OLG corporate locations - the company IS Canadian, based in Winnipeg - in January 2008 the Western Canada Lottery extended their contract with the company so most likely the OLG also contracts out to them - the question we are left unanswered with for now is: are ALL intended tickets actually printed for a game / are all tickets printed at once or in batches.
According to http://www.olg.ca/about/who_we_are/history.jsp?contentID=about_history
DeletePollard Banknote signed a minimum 10-year contract to supply OLG with instant scratch tickets in July 2007 and the Sault Ste. Marie plant looks to be a partnership between the two.
It's nice to see a group effort in solving some of the topics of discussion here. (^_^)
DeleteFrom the looks of their website, Pollard Banknote not only supplies OLG with instant tickets, but tons of other lottery organizations around the world as well.
Deletehttp://www.pollardbanknote.com/hot-off-the-press
So, do they print all the tickets for each game? Or do they only print so many at one time?
DeleteWhat are the restrictions for Pollard Bank Note when it comes to purchasing scratch tickets? Usually, in most cases, companies holding contests do not permit their employees to participate. I know the OLG doesn't allow their slots employees to play at the Slot facilities (unless it's at Niagara).
ReplyDeleteI could see a potential for a PBN employee having an unfair advantage and wonder what the protocols for this are.
You'd have to think that PBN employees are bound by the same limits as other "insiders", as a "key lottery supplier to OLG"
DeleteInsider Win definitions
An Insider Win occurs where an Insider claims and is paid a lottery prize.
It is the policy of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) that any Directors, Officers, Partners, Owners, and employees of the Defined Categories (listed below) and their immediate family members, including spouse (whether married or common law relationship), children, parents, siblings and any other relatives who reside with them will be subject to Insider Win Procedures as defined by the Corporation.
It is the responsibility of the Insider to advise OLG of their relationship to OLG upon claiming their prize.
Defined Categories:
Insiders are classified as any person who, within twelve (12) months prior to the date of a prize claim, is defined as:
- Retailers of OLG lottery products and all employees or individuals of the retailer who are involved in the sale and redemption of lottery products
- Interprovincial Lottery Corporation
- Key Lottery Suppliers to OLG
- Regulator of Lottery (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario)
- Suppliers of Independent Audit, Advisory or Security Services
- Other Canadian Lottery Jurisdictions
- An employee of accountable Ontario Government Ministries of the OLG and AGCO:
- Ministry of Finance (effective July 8, 2009)
- Ministry of Government Services
- Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Renewal (pre July 8, 2009)
- Immediate Family Members and Relatives of an OLG Employee or any other relatives who reside with an OLG Employee
Immediate family members of a defined Insider or any other relatives who reside with the Insider will be treated as Insiders.
Whats interesting is that you seem to have more information than the OLG employee who failed to answer my original question. I would encourage anyone to ask my original question to the OLG and you may be surprised by their answer.
DeleteCheers
How do you guys find out how much is left unsold?
ReplyDeleteThere is no information on exact numbers until long after a game has ended - the only up to date information is from the OLG unclaimed prize page - there you can see how many prizes remain for all games, which is updated daily - if a game has 50% of it's listed prizes remaining, then it's assumed that 50% of the tickets remain - this "extrapolation" of course is an ESTIMATE - even the OLG cannot tell exactly how many tickets currently remain.
DeleteI would just add to CL66's response that we should properly mention the margin of error when we state those numbers. They depend upon the number of prizes that are listed. For example, a game like Crossword lists 10,000 top prizes. We should say that there is estimated to be X tickets left to sell (+/- 1%, 19 times in 20). On the other hand, Diamond only lists 125 top prizes. When mentioning how many tickets for that game remain, we should say that there are an estimated X tickets left (+/- 8%, 19 times in 20).
DeleteIf this blog had a FAQ, that question would be #1. I'm looking to see how the format of the blog can be improved for 2016. Having a FAQ would be a good addition.
Doug
Anyone know what the changes to Lottario are this week? They have a graphic up on the OLG website but nothing really mentioning what the changes are.
ReplyDeleteJayDee,
DeleteClick on the graphic for more information and see my post below too!

Bought another diamond ticket and won $30, $10+$10+10. Three for three... il stop when I lose
ReplyDeleteI like that premise Shannon. Discipline!
DeleteNice win (again)!
DeleteYou're $130 - $30 = +$100 currently with Diamond. Your strategy will leave you coming out ahead for sure!
TmF
I met my insider today and received many items - anyone want a MED size OLG promo shirt? i needed LRG lol - one of the item is a LOTTARIO flyer which should be in all stores by tomorrow - the flyer states "better odds / more prizes / faster growing jackpots" - reverse side states 3 new prize levels: 4/6 + bonus wins $30 / 3/6 + bonus wins $5 / 0/6 + bonus wins a free ticket and new overall odds to win anything of 1 in 5.8 - for now i`ll add: i have the new $30 ticket, well a "sampler" of it, so it is for real! lol
ReplyDelete"Better odds!"... "More Prizes!"... "Faster Growing Jackpots!"...
DeleteAlthough that makes for great headlines, it's really all smoke and mirrors.
Basically it's the SAME 51% of sales that get fed back to the players for prizes as the OLG skims 49% right off the bat.
Yes, you now have 4 + Bonus category and a 3 + Bonus category but you also have the dreaded Free Play category.
The Free Play category allows the player to win more often, lowering the odds from 1-in-20.89 to 1-in-5.8 of winning any prize. Of course, the odds of winning a CASH prize isn't as easy or attractive as the headline number.
The new categories and faster growing jackpot are financed by cutting the size of the previous secondary prizes: 3/6 will now pay $4 instead of $5; 4/6 will now pay a fixed $10 instead of around $20-$25+; 5/6 will now pay a fixed $500 instead of around $750 previously and 5/6+B will now pay $10,000 instead of around $15,000 previously.
The prizes the players are more likely to encounter are being reduced to pay for the new categories and to juice the growth of the jackpot when there's no top prize winner because, although the OLG doesn't publish sales figures for the weekly draws, they know sales jump when the top prize nears $1M as opposed to when it's growing slowly from $250,000.
Basically taking from Peter to pay Paul and perhaps they've even worked Mary in there somehow too....
Still, can't blame them as other games like 6/49 have restructured their games in a similar fashion.
TmF
I wish more games were like the All In feature of the Poker Lotto, that thing counts up constantly when people put that dollar up, I wish more games had a running tally of tickets sold / prizes, I mean, we all know that if the Max / 649 / lottario dont go then itll be up, but itd be cool to see a progressive type jackpot like the poker stuff.
DeleteNot like it would matter too much I guess, I just like checking in on that poker lotto thing throughout the day, I guess its different since that can go anytime really.
I'm impressed by your "insider" CL66. That's some cool stuff. As for the magazine subscription; a little too rich for me. Any articles about print runs?
DeleteInteresting perspective Tommy.
DeleteI do agree fully on this restructuring. I hit 4/6 on 649 a week and a half ago and was astonished I only got $93. Not that I am complaining but for whatever reason I still have this impression of a $1000 payday.
AJ- I once hit 5/7 numbers on the lotto max and I thought I was going to get a $1000 payday as well, only got $105, it was depressing. The lotto definitely needs restructuring, these $60 million dollar jackpots are ridiculous. For lotto max, those maxmillions should be guaranteed prize winners. Or pooling the money differently. They need to change something, increasing the jackpot from 50-60 was a stupid idea. But I guess if you win the jackpot you want it to be the big one....you know what they say Mo' money, Mo' problems.
DeleteWell, odds of hitting 5/7 in Lotto Max is actually 1-in-1584. What would be considered a fair return? 1/10th the odds is usually my rule of thumb so that would be $158.40 but one also has to consider it's a $5 bet....
DeleteAt any rate, the OLG realizes that there's a bigger jump in sales when the headline numbers are eye-catching so it's no surprise the payouts are structured to feed the top prize category and not the secondary categories. I'd expect this trend to continue in the future.
TmF
Well, AJ, the odds of hitting 4/6 in Lotto 6/49 are 1-in-1,033. It's not as rare as one would think.
DeleteAlthough we see patterns in numbers like my number was one digit away or I missed two numbers and they were both in the 40's and both my numbers were in the 40's... the truth is, if you imagined the 49 numbers as alien symbols with no relationship to each other, hitting 4/6 or 5/6 is actually way off from achieving the odds of the top prize. It doesn't even come close.
The secondary category payoffs are relatively poor with these all-or-nothing draw games because approximately half the sales are removed first, the top prize is large the truth is most people are attracted to a large top prize and adjust their betting habits accordingly... and the OLG knows this as they are privy to the sales figures.

Coupon for $2 off any $4 CFL ticket
later this evening i`ll have scans of these as well as 4 other new games, 1 of which is the coming $30 ticket. Who else can give you such insider news? n-o-o-o-o-b-o-d-y! (^_^)
that $2 off a CFL is kind of weird considering the only CFL ticket they have only has 1 top prize left... I think it was anonymous that said thats what it was before but I didnt believe him cause it didnt sound like a very good deal, lol.
DeleteThanks for the news, CL66!

i tend not to beleive anyone named anonymous either lol - i earn my trust here so you know my statements are worthy (^_^)
DeleteCL66,
DeleteAre you telling me that you get six tickets plus a voucher inside each pack?
Doug
Woah - the $2 CFL coupon shows a NEW CFL ticket that states: "now with 10 top prizes of $1,000 a week for life"! - this SHOULD mean a new CFL ticket is to be released soon.
ReplyDeleteHere's pics of the $10 Gift Packs contents and a few other coming tickets:

ReplyDeleteAlso there is a $10 Instant GP on the unclaimed prize list, anyone know what that is?
oh wait, nevermind, lol
DeleteMy take on the gift pack is that despite having some familiar games like Crossword and Lucky Lines and Bingo, the returns on those games are different than if you bought the regular versions. Basically one has to view the gift as an entirely separate $10 game.
DeleteThe major glaring difference from other $10 games is the 65.18% prize payout.
That said, from a SPPB point of view with a 500 games played parameter: Hit rate of 1-in-3.32 or 30.2% and a SPPB of 50.2%. The 500 games played odds account for 98.6% of the prizes so this should be most average-luck-players' experiences.
If I had to take a wild guess as to the cost to the OLG of the $2 off CFL4 game voucher, it would probably add 5% back to the initial published prize payout bringing that more in line with the 70% the OLG normally has for $10 games. Basically, the player is paying for the voucher... would the OLG have it any other way? LOL!
TmF
Excellent post Tommy. I was getting sucked in there for a minute.
DeleteDoug
Still, Doug, there is an appropriate time and place for everything and I'd rather see a 65% $10 Christmas Themed Gift Pack in my stocking come Christmas morning than the two lovely Christmas sweaters my mother got for my birthday... during the summer. "What? You don't like them? They were on sale!", says Tommy's mother....
Delete@ Jason... "oh wait, nevermind, lol"... Ok, I get it now! LOL!

I'm mostly excited about a new CFL game, I'll try some $10 gift packs because they were decent to me last year but I'll be saving the free voucher for the release of the new CFL game.
ReplyDeleteFor a moment I thought the new lottario had a prize for matching NO numbers and was excited because I'm very good at having -0- matching numbers ....sigh..then I realized you need to hit the bonus # for a free play.
And thnx for your SPPB percentages Tommy and your evaluations on the Christmas games cl66.
GL everyone with all this new stuff.
Your welcome, Darth. I might partake in a Gift Pack or two also. Ultimately, the numbers I provide are just averages and you never know if you'll get lucky.
DeleteAlso, the 65% stated prize payback is what most $3 games carry and I do play those so that's no excuse for me to totally avoid the game.
TmF
P.S. Hitting zero numbers in Lottario would definitely give the players the advantage!
So, I was down in the GTA this weekend, I decided to visit the Flamboro slots/track casino. I went to play the video roulette they had there, I used a starting bank roll of $205, I doubled my money to $410 within about 20 mins and only playing a couple spins and decided to stop while I'm ahead. Meanwhile, While I was there, this older gentleman beside me playing the video roulette as well had a handful of hundred dollar bills and just kept feeding them into the machine and losing everything. Within those 20 minutes he made 2 more trips to the bank machine. I would estimate he lost about $3K within the time I was there. He kept picking double 0 and red on EVERY SPIN LOL. The funny thing is, his wife was with him, and not once did she even tell him to stop.
ReplyDeleteI also bought an Extreme Millions ticket at the shoppers in the Burlington Mall, It was the only one there (very small selection of tickets to choose from) and It was all beat up and folded up twice just sitting by itself in the tray all messed up. So I thought, Could this be that 1 in a million winner. Anyways, I bought it and I scratched it....and I won.....$20 lol.

The good news: it's the #1 game on odds to win $5,000+, $1,000+ and $100+. It's also the 4th best game on odds to win $50,000+ and $250+. You get 6 tickets to scratch and a coupon for $2 off any $4 Cash For Life game. This, along with lengthy game play time, is a great value for $10. The bad news: it's below average on odds to win more than $25 to under $100. You can win, in up to all 6 games, a total of $10 up to $150. Win in 2 games, a total of $10-$100, at odds of 1 in 12. Win in 3 games, a total of $10-$25, at odds of 1 in 13. Win in 4 games, a total of $14-$90, at odds of 1 in 46. Win in 5 games, a total of $100 at odds of 1 in 500. Win in all 6 games, a total of $150, at odds of 1 in 750. While there are 4,299 individual prizes of $100, there are actually 8,312 total prizes of $100. There are 4.013 prizes of $100 in total amounts won across more than 1 ticket within the Gift Pack. Only individual tickets prizes within the Gift Pack are noted on the OLG unclaimed prize page. While the coupon is meant for the Cash For Life ticket, there are retailers who will treat it as $2 off any OLG purchase. So you may be able to use this $2 off on something else just by asking, perhaps even using many coupons combined for another Gift Pack or else. I rate $10 Gift Pack 63/100, making it #4 out of all 36 tickets and as the best $10 game. Please note, that as a Christmas themed pack, it will be deactivated earlier than is the norm. While it's expected to be deactivated Christmas day, if enough packs remain, that date woud be extended.
Maybe I like conspiracy theories too much, but has anyone else noticed that Cashingo is becoming increasingly harder to find? All of my main spots no longer have it and tonight I had to get the manager to get a fresh pack from the back. Is OLG trying to phase this out to make room for the new games or am I just paranoid?
ReplyDeleteYour paranoid dude lol - there is a considerable estimated amount of tickets remaining for Cashingo - the game is not even scheduled to be deactivated until January 11th - there may just be too many tickets out now that some retailers arent bothering to carry certain tickets - many retailers have limited space and the current 35 different scratch tickets is pushing limits - Cashingo is only 2 months old, but it's not one of the popular selling games - retailers want whatever sells and this glut of tickets means few can carry all of them, so you have to expect to maybe go to a few places to get your choice tickets - here in Scarborough, i still see them most everywhere.
DeleteYeah, they ain't hard to find, I lose on them quite regularly.
DeleteI've always rated Cashingo as a game that sucked - it has odds of 1 in 21 to just win more than $6 - others may have thought it worthy just because all it's grand prizes had not yet been won - the odds to win one were 1 in 350,000 which to me isn't that good - well 2 of the 4 grand prizes have now been claimed - so the odds on the 2 remaining grand prizes are now an estimated 1 in only 610,000 (o_0).
DeleteThe Extreme Millions $1 million dollar Grand Prize was just won in Elliot Lake. Earlier this year the Fortune $1 million dollar Grand Prize was won there too. For such a small town population of 11,000 people and to have two $1 million dollar scratch ticket GP's in the same year, is quite impressive.
ReplyDeleteWell, Elliot Lake is close to Sudbury and it's possible the winners bought their tickets there. And Sudbury does have its own casino so it will attract gamblers from the surround area. We'll never know.
DeleteIt's understandable to question these things but until there's definitive proof (either way) it's all just speculation.
Don't get me wrong, I used to wonder the same thing. Ultimately, you should only play these instant games if you have a certain amount of faith that everything is legitimate otherwise what would be the point?
TmF
Yeah I know, I just think its pretty damn impressive...especially because they are both inter-provincial games not just provincial games. I just play as I hope to be that lucky SOB who wins big. I know people who have won big on 6/49, lotto max, and scratch tickets, so I know winning big exists, just want my time to come LOL.
DeleteIt's anti-intuitive but you actually want to see this.
DeleteImagine a game with 5M outstanding tickets and 5 top prizes which are randomly forced to different regions of the Province, one to the North, one to the East, one to the South, one to the West and one to the Central region. Your odds would then more likely be 1-in-5M since most of us don't travel super far to buy our tickets.
A true random distribution actually means all 5 or none of the prizes should be available to your usual purchase area. Only in this way can the odds be 1-in-1M.
Finding a quarter is lucky. You have to be super extremely lucky to win a large top prize....
TmF
Question: How come the odds for matching all 6 numbers for Lottario are only 1 in 4 million, whereas the odds for matching all 6 numbers for 6/49 & Ontario 49 are 1 in 14 million ?
ReplyDeleteBecause lottario is 6/45 instead of 6/49.
DeleteAnd for $1 you get two sets of numbers the true odds for a single line to match exactly are slightly over 8m to 1....
8m÷2 lines =4m to 1
Hope that helps
thanks, I didn't notice the extra line you get...brain cramp....from going to hard on the weekend lol. I'm probably still drunk lol

The good news: 10 grand prizes and 2 of $100,000. The bad news: There's 15.4 million tickets (almost 2x as many as the current CFL game) and ALL prizes have been restructured. There are less different prizes available and their quantities reduced. In 9 of 12 odds categories this game is below average. There are 2 different images used for this ticket, which is a first that i`m aware of. You can win up to 3 times on this ticket. Win in 2 Games, at odds of 1 in 35, a total of $8/$11(98%), $19/$62/$100($2%) or $1.500 (at odds of 1 in 768,740!). Win in 3 Games, at odds of 1 in 155. a total of $12(67%), $31(33%) or $532(at odds of 1 in 279,542!). When someone takes a big slice of the pie, it leaves little for everyone else. I rate the new $4 Cash For Life 31/100 making it the 3rd worst ticket out of all 36 games.
Lol..somehow buddy I knew you were going to be hard on this game..but I have to agree the small prizes aren't favourable ..
DeleteAtleast with bonus CFL the $20 winners were at decent odds and I think the current game is somewhat decent on $12 winners.
Like Tommy mentions with this type of game it's the big prizes you focus on.
And with over triple the grand prizes and just over twice the float I'm going to be a player on this one..
Heading out right now to find some.
Gl everyone
Just under half the float and just over triple the grand prizes is what I meant.
DeleteI decided to call a few of the higher volume ticket retailers in my area and nobody has it yet..gladly I never went out searching..but it's coming soon they tell me.
My take on Cash For Life #1171:
ReplyDeleteYou can no longer win in 4 games or 5 games like the previous version although that's never happened to me anyways...
As CL66 noted above, the initial float has ballooned to 15M+ and winning in 2 games or 3 games has gotten noticeable more difficult.
In certain ways, the prize structure change has gotten better. When you only have 3 top prizes and 2 are won quickly the game becomes unattractive fast. And when you only have ONE 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place prizes the cupboard looks bare when they are taken. CFL#1171 seems have improved in that area over CFL#1167.
But like CL66 notes, when the game is more top heavy prize-wise, someone else has to pay for it. Still, the lower 4 prize categories for single win games are starting to look more Crossword like in their payouts with a 1-in-35 chance of a 5x prize and a 1-in-30 chance of a 3x prize. Mind you, I still don't like prizes that are less than a multiple of cost, ie. the $7 prize.
SPPB based on 467 games (which account for 99.8% of the prizes!): 1-in-3.93 (25.4%) hit rate with a Pay Back of 52.95%, actually less than the previous version's 54.46%.
Note the Prize Payout Percentage (PPP) is 67.76%, higher than #1167's 65.85% but lower than #1170 (Double CFL) 69.63% and #1168 (Bonus CFL) 69.89%.
The SPPB is near the bottom of the list but I'm sure most players of this game, myself included, do not play it for the small prizes.
GLTA,
TmF
I was pumped for a New CFL game. As TMF mentioned, in the last CFL game 2 of 3 Grand Prizes were claimed almost immediately, so I did not even bother to purchase any tickets with only 1 GP remaining and most of the float still left.
DeleteI'm excited this new CFL game has 10 GP's....but with 15.3 Million tickets printed, that seems ridiculously high for a Provincial game. That's more tickets printed than any of the other inter-provincial games (extreme, diamond, fortune etc). So now I'm a little less excited for the game, but I only play it for the top prize anyways. But 1 in a 1.5 million chance at a top prize 650K is awful lol. The extreme millions game I play is a 1 in 990K chance at a million bucks vs 650K. (obviously cost of ticket is different).
So on next weeks blog....I'm assuming we are going to cover this ticket printing conspiracy theory we all have. Doug said he was going to do some research. I can't picture all of those 15M+ CFL tickets being printed for just a provincial game. However, I believe earlier this year in Quebec's version of their CFL game, All GP's were claimed within the first couple days....which somewhat leaves to believe that all the tickets are printed...but who knows.
Just grabbed first $10 Gift Pack. Won $50 on the Crossword (6 words) $10 on Winter Green & $10 on Snow Dough. A nice tide $60 profit. That'll cover our scratch tickets for the upcoming weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat should read nice tidy $60 profit.
DeleteThat's quite amazing... not because you won but because that $70 prize doesn't exist.
DeleteYou should re-check the other tickets. The only category with the above configuration $50 on Crossword, $10 on Winter Green and $10 on Snow Dough is the $150 prize. It's possible you also won $50 on the Bingo, $20 on the Lucky Lines and $10 on Holiday Fortune. If so... great win! It's 1-in-750 to hit that.
TmF
I could see missing the bingo and lucky lines wins but holiday fortune is pretty easy to spot, lol.
DeleteI got 2 packs the other day, didnt win anything, ill probably grab another 1 or 2 and then go back to my normal tickets, I won 100 or 150 last year I cant remember but it was an actual "gift" pack that was given to me and not one i bought for myself like i usually do.
I've got them sitting right here in front of me. I can take a pic if you've got a place to send it.
DeleteSorry, didn't understand your statement. My wife says she threw out the other tickets but will try to find them.
ReplyDeleteShit - Found a blown $20 on Lucky lines & $10 on Holiday Fortune. Don't see anything on Bingo tho. I will check that again. I've been telling my wife for years to run every ticket thru the machine every time and assumed she was. It won't happen again.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, whether you check it yourself or by machine, that Bingo is probably a $50 winner so congrats on that $150 (not $70!) win. You've got a nice couple of scratching weekends coming up courtesy of the OLG!
DeleteTmF
My wife just got back from the store with the $150. Minus $20 for two more of those packs. I can't thank you guys enuff for that. Almost blew $80 and never would have known it. Makes me think back to the Lucky Lines fiasco. Someone was saying that maybe some of the winners were lost or thrown out and I figured no way. But who knows.
DeleteIts funny cause my girlfriend scratched a polar bear thats been sitting on the table for a week now i think, thought it was a loser but when i took my tickets to check a little while ago she only scratched 4 across instead of 5, there was a polar bear under one of the spots, lol, $12, glad I always check them at the machine.
DeleteBTW. The next 2 Gift Packs were a total washout.
Delete2 more gift packs down, havent found a winner yet, also another crossword tripler, bingo doubler and a polar bear, just not my week / month i guess, lol
ReplyDeleteI've also had a rough week with scratch tickets. Off the top of my head, 2 Aces & 8s, 2 Crossword Triplers, 2 Wild Cards, 1 Bingo Doubler, 1 Red Tripling 7s, 1 Merry Money Multiplier, 1 Holiday Spectacular and 1 Classic White. All losers!
ReplyDeleteHowever I had some better luck with Poker Lotto, getting a flush and netting $100! My first big win on this game. I typically don't play unless I see the jackpot over $100k.
Here's a look at the new Cash For Life game compared to 4 previous versions - i often say "when someone takes a big slice of the pie, it leaves little for everyone else" - to make the 10 grand prizes posible, which is much more than ever offered before, it means there's less of other prizes, as well as much more tickets than ever before - here are their odds on smaller common prizes of $12+, $20+, $50+, $100+:

Does everyone remember 'Living the Life Lottery' game? I'm on the OLG website and this game brought back memories of possibly being the worst game in history. If I can recall, It was me and darth who spent nearly $200 in tickets each and didn't win a thing hahah.
ReplyDeleteYeah that game was poorly marketed, hardly nobody even heard of it ..being the flop it was increased our odds but ultimately we crapped out..
DeleteDamn it thats two old purple keno tickets ive got now thinking they were the new ones, lol, I thought of you guys after I just scratched one, gave myself a bit of a pep talk "come on, those guys wouldnt make that mistake, get it together man" its like a purpley pink, maybe im color blind, lol
ReplyDeleteanyway for today, 2 polar bears and a keno, still nothing, the streak continues, lol
Nice catch TMF for Lloyd. I'm checking all my discards now and did find another $3 that would have ended up in the bin. I'd love to find something larger but then it would make me wonder about before I started checking...
ReplyDeleteI always get the cashier to validate all my tickets. I always seem to miss something.
ReplyDeleteUhmm just saying. .
Deletewhen there's a line up of people it always ticks me when someone is using the cashier to validate a stack of DUD tickets and wasting everyone's time..If that's you then be aware the ten people behind you are throwing imaginary spears at you ..lol..please put faith in the self checker or atleast do it at times the establishment isn't busy..
just my "pet peeve" rant
Yes. Always the self checker.
Deletelol Darth, I check my tickets at the same small corner store where no one goes. I definitely don't check my tickets at heavy traffic stores like gas stations/grocery stores/pharmacies.
DeleteAnd the ultimate worst is people who bring 5 million coupons/flyers to the grocery store trying to save 5 cents on every item.
