Ten days since the last update and both of the Bingo Express Grand Prizes remain outstanding. Your chances to win one are now less than 1 in 200,000 which is the best of any game currently for sale (excepting the games with plentiful Grand Prizes). The game also returns 58.7% of its revenue to winners of $100 or less. Of course, in this game, that is ALL of the prizes with the exception of those two Grand Prizes. With 13% of the float left to claim and the game having been deactivated, your chances of finding tickets will be a challenge. Time to suss out those out-of-the-way retailers.
New on the scene were Merry Money and The $10 Holiday Gift Pack. Good reviews on both are contained in the comments to last week's post. I rank Merry Money 24th as two of its Grand Prizes have already been claimed after an estimated 14% of the float having been sold.
I desperately wanted to play the Gift Pack but it returns only 53.7% of its revenue to winners of less than $100. Its Grand Prize is only $50,000 and although there are 6 of them, that's still only 1.7% of total revenue which is easily the worst of all $10 - $20 games. The game only offers a total return of 65% instead of the usual 70% for $10 games. There is the $2 off of a $4 Cash For Life ticket and that has to be worth the missing 5% as was pointed out. What the heck, I'll buy some anyways.
If you want to be entertained read the string of messages between Lloyd and Tommy last week. It's good. If this blog serves no other purpose than to have rescued some of Lloyd's profits from the trash bin , then it has been a success.
I wonder what the estimated slippage is at the OLG? They know exactly what tickets were redeemed and the accounting for all redeemed prizes. What percentage of winning tickets are sold but never cashed? Racetracks enjoy the same sort of bonus. I would estimate it at about 5%. Any other opinions?
Interesting comments on the upcoming Cash For Life game by CL66. The game was not listed on the O/S Prize Listing today so it has not made it into the ratings. Its inclusion will bring the number of tickets for sale to about 115,000,000, well above the normal supply of about 90,000,000. There's no shortage of choice these days.
An amusing story about a chap who is suing Lotto Quebec because quick pick numbers are removed from the RNG for a period of a few weeks thereby creating the possibility that those very excluded sets of numbers may be the winning numbers.

I was shaking my head until I reached the part of the story where we learn that this is the same guy whose winning Lotto Max ticket was processed 9 seconds after the deadline. He lost that suit too. I pity the chap but this is no way to deal with his angst.
By the way, has anyone claimed that $64 Million Lotto Max prize in Mississauga yet? I'll bet that the DART team is on the job.

Crystal 7's was retired this week. Lots of discussion on checking tickets before discarding them. I could not agree more. I had a $30 winning Cross Tripler ticket that , even after being pleasantly surprised at the ticket checker, I could not see how I had won. I took the redeemed ticket home and it had to take me 15 minutes for me to see the mistake I had made.I wonder what the estimated slippage is at the OLG? @CL66: As always, thanks for the crunch!
ReplyDelete@Mic: Thanks. Two things came together here... Lloyd posting his results and Tommy's "curiously strong"... um... curiosity. LOL!
@Jason: I just don't have the heart to scratch that super cute Polar Bear! At any moment I'd expect him to reach out his paw and offer me a bottled soda... And you have to stop going to retailers that have the anti-blue light cellophane cover on their displays. They make purple Keno tickets look red! LOL! (For those who like to take things literally, this was a joke. There are NO anti-blue light cellophane covers).
@Doug: Well, they do like to do things differently in Quebec. And it's true their method of generating Quick Pick combinations is different and not intuitive. Still, I hope he wins and changes are made. However, from what he and his lawyer describe, I can see no disadvantage with respect to his odds of winning (vs. those who don't take Quick Pick or those who buy Quick Pick tickets ahead of him). Ultimately, if you sue it has to be for something, a quantifiable amount. In this case, he can win his argument but the financial damage to him caused by LQ is actually zero.

While the blog is named "OLG Scratch and Win Ticket Advice", Doug's views continue, in my opinion, to be more "OLG Grand Prize Scratch and Win Ticket Advice". My perspective being different, motivated me to create my "number crunch", which i post here weekly to offer a shared view or as a differing opinion. While $1 Bingo Express has the best odds of all games to win a grand prize, odds of 1 in 200,000 for something very good to happen to you, aren`t what i would call... very good - lol. So it must have something else going for it to be rated #1, well $1 Bingo Express is actually the 2 worst ticket out of all 36 games on odds to win more than just 2x your $ at. I aslo beleive a game that's readily available to all, should be held higher, than a game that was deactivated awhile ago, making it nard to currently find.
ReplyDeleteLaunching Monday November 30th will be $30 $250 Million Golden Treasures. It offers 10 top prizes of $2.5 Million and "over 1 million prizes of $100 or more". You can view this ticket here: http://s196.photobucket.com/user/one9six6/media/1.jpg.html
whats new about the new lottario?
ReplyDelete$2 now?
7 wild cards today produced 7 duds..
ReplyDeletewifey warned me..we are terrible with that particular game. She's been playing a bunch of $3 frosty lately and doing good with all the little prizes.
I've bought 8 Wild Cards now since it started and no wins. I was tempted to go out and buy 20 of them just to experience a win on this game. Someone must be winning, right? Someone tell me OLG isn't laughing at us.
DeleteWild Card has been one of my most successful batches of tickets since I've been keeping track earlier this year. I've had 19 wins out of 66 tickets including one $50, one $25 and four $20 wins on that game. Holiday Spectacular has also been kind to me with 5 wins out of 10 tickets, including two $30 wins.
DeleteConversely, I have absolutely horrible luck on any Crossword games. Out of 23 Crossword tickets this year (3209 and 3210) I've won a total of 5 times, and all of them $3 "refunds". I also have zero wins in six Aces & 8s tickets, and zero wins in seven for Diamond Payout.
It's funny how luck varies!
My opinion the new Lottario is terrible. What they did is change all the payouts to fixed amounts and added some more possible wins by adding the + bonus number at every level but the money is pretty unimpressive.
ReplyDeleteWhere before 3/6 was $5 now it's $4 where 4/6 was a % of the prize pool usually $25 or better now it's $10. 5/6+bonus is now a fixed $10k.
Agree. .I shall continue with my regular play on this game which is usually $1 per draw and as the jackpot nears $1m then start throwing a bit more at it..same idea with poker lotto by throwing a bit extra at it when the "allin" is over $150k..
DeleteHere's a look at how tickets rate in odds to win "high $" and "low $". The "high" category gives an overall rating on the odds to win in the categories of $50K+/$5K+/$1K+/$250+/$100+. The "low" category gives an overall rating on the odds to win in the categories of 8-10x+/6-8x+/5x+/4x+/3x+/2x+ on your $.

I used to play scratch tickets and lottery but now I play Proline, Point spread and Pools. I find sports gambling much more fun and interesting. I play NFL Proline Pools. Every Sunday, I make my picks, do my research on which team will win, then I order some good food and watch all the games! If I get all my picks correct then the prize share amount is usually between $5k to over $20k or more. The best part is if you pick underdogs and you win the chance of overall jackpot rises to over $40-$100k. There have been times where people have won over $200k, $300k or even $800k!
ReplyDeleteI did the sports gambling for a bit. Mixing baseball and soccer, trying to get a nice payout. I found it very frustrating. Rarely did I win and when I did I couldn't even figure out how since it wasn't the amount on the ticket, worse, I was losing because of my choices and not the randomness of a scratch ticket. I'm back to the scratches and checking this blog to make wiser choices while sticking to my faves. I've not won greater that $100 on a single ticket but I win more often than others I know.
DeleteI've noticed a certain name winning over and over and over on sports bets on the OLG recent winners over $1000 list. Take a look at the list for Nov 9/15. I'd love to know his secret! I wonder how much he's spending.
DeleteHi jaydee..I've noticed the same name pops up frequently I sometimes wonder if he's cashing other peoples tickets for them or running some sort of pool with other players involved. .
Deleteregardless its safe to say hes not abiding to the $100 dollar per day per person max wager rule the olg has for sports betting. .
Since we're on the topic if you check Nov/6/15 there is a fellow from Chatham who cashed in multiple tickets totalling around $30k ..
what's interesting about that is most of them were just days away from being an expired ticket..they were from Oct/nov/Dec/14 I think the sports tickets work the same as lotto tickets that they expire 1 year after the event..but he had several tickets that were past a year old..
Regardless ..just found it strange someone would sit on$30k worth of ttickets for a year and come forward at the last minute before expiry..
Strange world we live in.
Testing.
DeleteJust joined this blogger thing in a less anonymous way.
@anon- I used to play proline (bet on hockey) and I would do extremely well. Won $4K on a hockey pool and too many multi-hundred dollar tickets to count. The reason why I stopped playing it, the odds were becoming terrible (I don't know know who makes the odds, but I noticed more and more every year its like were getting ripped off). Also, I remember when OLG showed odds for hockey games for the next 3-4 upcoming days. Now they only show odds for same or next day. It's really becoming a joke.
ReplyDelete@Doug- still no word on the 64 million, If I won, I would heading to the prize center to collect it ASAP, Think of how much interest he's lost already LOL! I honestly don't blame the guy for having a bitter taste in his mouth from being 9 seconds too late on winning the lotto max jackpot.
So does anyone plan on buying that $30 scratch ticket when it comes out? I most definitely will, however, I feel like it will be like Extraordinaire.....It will do good for the like 2-3 months...a couple Grand Prizes will be claimed...then no one will buy it....the game will be retired with more than half the float and Grand Prizes left just like Extraordinaire. How many people are actually willing to spend $30 on one single scratch ticket.....You know in a years' time they will come out with a $40 ticket, then $50 and so on and so forth lol.
Out of curiosity, what are the highest winning odds you people have won on a scratch ticket?? Just the other week, I won $100 on the $20 ticket 'Extreme Millions'. I literally thought this was no big deal considering it was only 5x the money. After going on Extreme Millions Players Guide Fact Sheet....the odds of that happening were 1 in 7299.49. For those kind of odds, I definitely expected more than a measley $100 or 5x the money.
ReplyDeleteOn bonus CFL I hit a $50+$50=$100 (win $100 in 2 games) which had somewhere around 30,000 to 1 odds, which was also a rare ticket with insane odds.
DeleteBack in May i had a 1 in 47,000 $100 win on a $5 Crossword Doubler - while the amount wasnt huge, the odds were as there was only 185 prizes of $100 within 8.6 million tickets - i`ve had noteable wins long before, but i didn't bother to note the odds for them then - last biggie was $814 from a $3 Mah Jong ticket back in January 2014.
DeleteI won $300 on a scrabble ticket a few months ago. It was a fun win too, I had 6 words which was $40 with 1 more letter to scratch and it happened to be a 'k' which made the 7th word for $100 on a tripler spot for $300. Odds were 1 in 28,000!!
DeleteSince I started keeping track, $125 on a $3 15X The Money ticket. 1 in 14000.
DeleteTweeting cartoon bird and stars circling above my head !!!
DeleteI'm completely in a daze when I think of the odds all of you have overcome for such measly prizes!
For me I'd have to say it was a ways back when I very rarely played instants... a $25 win on a More Lucky Lines beating 1-in-2800 odds. What's more, it was in the match 3 bonus area. When I checked up the odds afterwards, I actually told myself not to play these things!
@CL66, the odds on your Mah Jong win is probably similar to #1773's $817 win-4-games odds of... 1-in-70,756. Mind numbing...

Cashed in my last diamond ticket and got a $10 winner I knew my luck was over when I bought my 5th ticket.. I won on 4/5 tickets. I'm happy and won't be buying anymore.
ReplyDeleteI purchased a variety of tickets today, here is my negative outcome:
ReplyDeleteHoliday Gift Pack - Won $10
Extreme Millions- $0
Holiday Spectacular- $0
Diamond Payout- $20
On a side note, Lotto 6/49 Superdraw on Nov.25 & 28.
Main Draw
Guaranteed $1 million prize draw
Guaranteed $ 100,000 x 6 draws
Guaranteed $ 10,000 x 49 draws
I have been having very bad luck with Money Multiplier...have probably purchased upwards of 70 tickets since it has been released, and have only got a few $5 wins, and I think 2 $20 wins.
ReplyDeleteThere is a store that I frequent that still has the $10 fortune game for sale. I know it is a retired game, but I was having great luck with it, and I think it still has a bunch of top prizes left to be claimed. Should I purchase? Good idea or bad idea?
Side note: $10 spectacular has been quite crappy to me as well.
It's a tough call when there's no up to date information on the game.
DeleteWhat I do know is that it had an initial float of 15,017,000 with 5,356,000 allocated to the OLG and 12 top prizes. I would guess that (5,356,000/15,017,000 * 12) = 4.3 of the top 12 prizes were assigned to the OLG. Ok, so let's make that 4 to 5.
As far as I can remember, there were 4 top prizes left when it was removed from the listing so 8 top prizes were already won. The question is, are there any top prizes left in Ontario? After all, I'm sure you don't want to play a game with no top prizes left.
Personally, since the top prize claims are not broken down by jurisdictions, it's possible all OLG top prizes have been claimed and so I wouldn't play this game. However, if you have been lucky with this game, well, you never know. Good luck whatever you decide.

Nice ticket Shannon. .
DeleteI'm not certain, but every money multiplier grand prize I thought was win $100k in one game and your pic shows win $100k in ten games. .
Maybe the older version was different that it offered the grand prize in multiple games. .photo shop is pretty amazing. .are you sure it's a real ticket ?
Maybe someone can correct me on the grand prize combinations.
..but thnx for sharing because I've never seen a pic of such a big prize before..

I back checked some older version and none show win $100k in ten games.
My bad..Sorry Shannon if I suggested your pic was faked but with the internet you just never now.
DeleteA bit of digging involved and I came upon money multiplier #1379 which is from 08/09 and it has a $100k prize with the exact prize combination your pic shows.
So it appears that the very early versions of the game had a much different prize structure.

I'm positive it's real guys lol. I was with her when she won and our boss made photocopies cuz it was pretty cool. Her name was Brenda she was from Wellend and I think she won sometime in May 2011.
ReplyDeleteSo many doubters, lol, Is it that far fetched that someone won it and took a picture? I believed her, lol.
ReplyDeleteAlso to photoshop something like that wouldnt exactly be easy, considering none of the stars look the same and some arent scratched all the way, itd take some time to fake with absolutely no point / pay out for doing so.
anyway, hope to see more of those on here soon, lol.
Yeah I doubted it at first because I never saw a winner combination of 10 games producing a $100k grandprize on money multiplier but I stand corrected. .lol..I spent over an hour researching it and yep when you go back far enough the grand prize can be won in 10 games in the exact scheme as Shannon's pic shows..that being two games at $10k each and 8 games at ☆"doubled" $5k wins.
DeleteBefore becoming interesed in Doug's blog I was almost exclusively a $5 Ont.instant millions and cash for life player and a few $3 and even fewer $10 games sprinkled in there..So the old money multiplier before maybe 2011/12 was a game I never bothered with..hence my skepticism. .
Darth was wrong but he figured it out all by himself. .lol..
I'm also a believer Shannon and that is the best pic I've seen yet on here..hopefully one of us in the group can have another one
to post soon..
GL everyone
that's cool to see a Grand Prize ticket like that. All I have to say is, I would of shit my pants after uncovering the first line and seeing that I won $10K.....I could only imagine how many more times I would of shit myself seeing that on every line like on that ticket. Note to self, only scratch tickets in the privacy of my own home so I don't end up ruining a good pair of boxers.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteHmm....OLG website has been down since last night. Wonder what's up?
ReplyDelete(I sometimes wonder what happens if their scanners don't work properly (this has happened a few times) and winning tickets are misread - would they ever admit it if "technical difficulties" meant some winners became losers instead.....
I'm now at 10 Wild Cards and zero wins. Why or why do I keep trying?
ReplyDeleteMe to Jay. .early on in the game I won $20 and a $10 now im at almost 20 duds in a row...I'm done with that game..
DeleteLast night I hit 3 matches on a $6 pokerlotto night draw for $25 but I'm flopping on everything for the last couple weeks.
I just received my "dream it win it"
London hospital charity tickets the other day..did anyone else try it this year? 6 entries for $100 isn't to bad if you compare it to some of the other hospital lotteries.
I've played a total of 43 Wild Cards ($215 worth) and won $102 back. So my hit rate is just under 50%.
Delete$210 worth of Spectacular and won back $70 so hit rate of 33%.
$30 on GP and I'm pretty sure I won nothing. Haven't scratched it all, I plan on scanning them. I don't like playing these.
I plan on continuing with Spectacular and MAYBE Wild Cards.
I hope my results can be of use. Good luck everyone.
Yikes! Things have been pretty dry here as well. Crossword has been a disappointment. An occasional $25 prize is needed to reach the SPPB of 60% since without it, SPPB falls to 53% and without the 'fair share' of 1-in-17 $15 prizes, SPPB falls further to 25%. I'm not getting my fair share so I'll be taking a break from #3210 and switching the weekly trio of it to Diamond instead. I'll see how that goes for a while. I'll need some Lanacaine(tm) too since I'll have a lot less scratching to do.

I was just surprised with a $52 6/49 encore prize from Nov. 14th. I didn't cash it in because I wanted to see where I won. I got the first 4 numbers and the last. Only 8 people won that. So close but so far
ReplyDeleteCongrats! With odds of 1-in-123,457 I don't think I would ever see that in my lifetime. Then again, I'm not an Encore player. Still, you overcame amazing odds!
DeleteTmF
That's why I don't play Encore- the odds are bad. I got 5 of 6 numbers on 6/49 and won $1,792. The odds of getting that were 1 in approx 55,000. So $52 for 1-in-123,457- yikes!

ReplyDeleteRight on, Brother!
DeleteMy family owns two convenient stores in the GTA. In the past ten years since we had these locations, I can only count on 2-3 winning in the 10000-50000. PLEASE I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT SPEND IT ON THESE STUPID GAMES. WE PAY ENOUGH TAXES ALREADY. Please consider what I have just said! :-) Spend it on your children, buy a coffee at starbucks. theres a million better ways to spend your hard earned cash.
